I'm sure it does for some people. Just as I'm sure it also opens some peoples eyes to some prospects that weren't on their radar.

But I ask the question in relation to my post *shrugs*

I don't like the idea that Rambo, Jefferson, and Swearinger are dropping in stock because of the combine.

I don't understand all of the medical factors in play. I don't understand why Chris Samuels can play a decade with the condition and it didn't effect his draft stock and why Jones had to leave USC and might tumble in the draft because of it.

UGA played him though and he had two tremendous seasons where he didn't really seem to be slowed at all. If he got cleared and was willing to assume the risks of playing, I'd love to have him. I think he's the best player in the class and a potential DPOY type player.

For the good, I think Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee; AJ Klein, MLB, Iowa State; Jamie Collins, LB, USM; Moore, OLB, UConn; Cornelius Washington, OLB, Georgia; David Amerson, CB, NC State; Earl Wolff, S, NC State all had strong workouts.

Earl Wolff spent most of his career overshadowed in an N.C. State secondary dominated by flashier playmakers such as David Amerson and Brandan Bishop. Tuesday, the steady three-year starter stepped out of those shadows and became the ultimate workout warrior on the final day of the NFL’s Scouting Combine.

The recently graduated Wolfpack safety was a top performer in each of the four disciplines in which he participated – posting the best broad jump, the second-best 40-yard dash and the fourth-best vertical jump among players at his position to steal the show in Indianapolis.

Though Wolff was the only ACC safety at the Combine, he was one five former conference defensive backs – including Amerson – showing off their skills for representatives of all 32 NFL teams.

If Margus Hunt is there in the 3rd it's really tough not to take him. He's raw, but physically he is just a monster. If he's there in the fourth you run to the podium, stuff the card in Goodell's mouth, then run around giggling.

I made a post about him at #5497. You don't always see his freakish athleticism like you'd think you would. There's a whole lot of pretty bad mixed with the really good. He also kinda takes bad angles, go to 1 minute of this video for an example.



He also doesn't really wrap up all that well. Go to 1 minute and 15 seconds for the video below for an example. Then two plays later (at 1 minute and 33 seconds) is an example of him making a pretty good play. There's so much bad mixed with the good. I mean, he's got potential, he's just inconsistent.



2:47 of the above video is a lack of effort. He sees the lineman come out and zero in on him so he just backs off and doesn't try and go around. At 6:17 he completely bites on the playfake and gives up a TD. 9:36 is another example of him not wrapping up well, he does slim him down enough for the other safety to make the tackle, but if it weren't for the safety, that's a TD.

So with all that bad I just mentioned, 11:35 is an easy example of solid coverage play. He sees someone crossing over the middle to be open, and he steps up to take away the throw.



So above is the 2nd half, and it starts with him showing better effort immediately. He knows he'll get blocked, but he gets in there doesn't give up ground and makes room for someone else to tackle the guy to force a punt. But ugh, 5:07 is another perfect example of how he sucks at wrapping up.

Yeah. That's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. There is no way I would take him over Jefferson, Rambo, or Swearinger at any point in the draft.

I'd love this but if the mocks are anywhere near on the money - Long probably goes 2-3 rounds earlier, Goodwin 1-2 rounds earlier.

Anyone a fan of Conner Vernon, WR out of Duke? I really think he's gonna be a player in this league. Strong hands, not that fast but he knows who to get open and make plays. Dude is just a player. We could get him in the mid rounds too.

Agreed. Problem is that he is god-awful blocker, and that wont run in our offense. He doesnt have the attitude or desire for it and his technique is hilarously bad.

I've beaten the point some on this thread that I predict some WRS are going to go lower than expected -- seems mocks every year overestimate how high some Wrs go. But I wonder about Goodwin, he seems to have a lot of buzz around him, granted though the buzz is driven by the media. For the Redskins, it seems obvious that their WRs targets this draft will be guys who are burners like Goodwin. Conversely, that's why I am doubting whether guys like Harper are on their radar screen. If they are going to upgrade WR, i don't see the prime need being a physical WR.
