Thread: 2013 Comprehensive NFL Draft Database

I was thinking about it and I've just settled on the conclusion that I'd love to get an "A" player at any position at this point, except maybe full back. Or OLB, where we've already got two young high draft picks that need to be playing every snap. And QB and LT where we've already got guys with that level of potential of course.

I'd absolutely jump on drafting him if he were an ILB, WR, CB, S, OT, OG, TE, or HB.
Do we have any chance at Mosely? Fletcher looks utterly done. And I really think that having a stud MLB is a prerequisite to having an elite defense, as much if not more so than an elite corner or DE, despite how differently teams value the positions. I haven't watched him yet, but you're projecting him to be a stud, so I'm interested. Our defense, as long as we retain the current scheme, will be linebacker driven, and we need a stud MLB to keep it in top shape.

A lot of people i've seen are taking a liking to Keenan Robinson, though I have not seen enough. Unless he absolutely dominates camp, it'd be foolish not to at least look for depth at ILB. A few guys I'd take a look at in the 3-4 round would be Kevin Reddick out of UNC, Nico Johnson out of Alabama, and Michael Mauti out of Penn State.

And one of my personal favorites who actually reminds me of Fletch is Florida standout, Jon Bostic. Dude's a stud on the field. He had an OK season last year but has really come on strong this year and really filled Brandon Spikes's shoes well at Florida

How would you guys feel about John Jenkins?

Personally, If he's there in the 2nd, Im taking him. However, when all is said and done, no ones been more dominant on the big stage than Jenkins. Him, Hankins and Lotulelei may all be top 10.

In case he's sitting there in the 2nd, what do you do? Take Jenkins or hope for Elam/Vaccaro/Lester?

Yes....maybe? Mosley is somewhere between the 1st and 2nd round, so it's possible he might be on the board in the 2nd.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I doubt he's the guy we'd pick, too many other needs, though I agree, Mosley is a stud and him and Riley would be two solid young players with high ceilings.

Jenkins is a 1st round talent easily. If he's there, I'm taking him, and then maybe trying to trade back up using our 3rd and something for one of the safeties you mention. Would be a monster NT, allowing us to slide Cofield outside.

Thing is, he's projected top half of the 1st round most places, so him being around somewhere near pick 40 is basically impossible.

Mosley is an OLB but plays some WILL ILB at times. He may hold off until 2014 to come out and he will be better than Upshaw and Hightower. I could see the Ravens joining him up with his old teammate. Still want to look at his current teammate Nico Johnson out of Alabama. Hell, Ill take the Alabama defense and replace it with ours if I could

I would select a WR in the second probably Rogers if he continues to climb or Wilson, Robert really needs a go to guy. Then a safety in the 3rd, could be Lester.

Garcon will be healthy and he's the go-to guy. Our WR's aren't the best but I would much rather a top safety (or true NT), in this deep class, with our top pick in the 2nd

Hows this sound guys... still working on it and obviously this season is far from over but...

2nd round - John Jenkins NT, UGA (if we're lucky)
    3rd round - Matt Elam, S, Florida
4th round - Kapron Lewis-Moore, DE, Notre Dame, or, Jon Bostic, ILB, Florida
5th round - Leon McFadden, CB, San Diego State
5th round - Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State

didnt go any further yet. Obviously this is a defensive draft. Feel free to add an OT somewhere early on. I like the sleeper, underrated picks...

By go to guy I meant a true #1, Garçon is a good #2, as he was in Indy. Moss is on the wrong side of the hill and I have little trust in Morgan and Hankerson. I agree this draft is deep at safety that's why I think we can get a good one in the 3rd, while finding a very good receiver in the 3rd would be more difficult. I don't know about NT to be honest with you, which one do you like ?

I've been clamoring for Big John Jenkins since before even last years draft... I like his teammate Kwame Geathers as well but I think Jenkins may be a first rounder this year and Kwame may wait until 2014 to come out. If not, and we hypothetically went NT in the 2nd then we could end up with Jesse Williams or Sylvester Williams.

I don't see Jenkins getting to us, so I wouldn't put him in a mock. He goes on a list of "run to the podium if he's there, but don't expect him to be there" kind of guys, along with Jake Matthews, Milliner, etc. Basically everywhere has him as a solid 1st rounder, and I've seen him drafted in mocks as early as 12. Scouts Inc. has him as 16th on their big board too.

Instead, since we're not going CB until the 5th, but IMO should address it earlier, I'd replace him with Amerson, Poyer, Fuller, or Trufant. I'd also put RT Nixon in the 4th, though I do like Bostic as an ILB pick.

Yup, Jenkins for me is a top 15 pick and wont be going anywhere else than that IMO

I'd rather go how you said it and go Poyer round 2 Elam round 3 and if lucky Arthur Brown in round 4 the LB from KSU

we need impact athlete's we enough enough JAGs (just a guys) we need an infusion of athleticism on this roster. Given that I would JUMP all over David Amerson as a CB/FS in the second. He would give us size in the secondary we haven't had since Sean Taylor. His ball skills are off the charts and he has the potential to be an elite zone defender and above average man coverage guy at Safety. In the 3rd I believe we go after William Gholston. He flashes dominance in the run and pass game. When he isnt "flashing" he is still a capable run defender. He has all the potential in the world and plays with a nasty streak. In the 4th I'd go after kenjan barner or denard robinson. Brandon Banks is too small to contribute on offense and he returns as a returner have been greatly diminshed. Take a guy that can be a huge upgrade to him at both spots and we add a real threat at the RB/WR position in this offense. With those picks alone we add size and athleticism to the defense and game breaking speed to the offense. Now is also the year to get a 3rd pass rusher. This class is DEEEEEEEEEP at that position like this 6-7 from Oregon that will be a the top of the second Dion Jordan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBjbCb3pPss
