Honestly, I agree. There should be a code of conduct for owners, just like there is for players. Unfortunately there are some generally bad people that have a lot of money and can do whatever they want with few repercussions. Sterling falls into that category.

Definitely. You'd think loads of civil rights violations would be enough for him to get his team taken away. He's a horrible person and worse owner. He's a legitimate black eye for the NBA and the most disgraceful figure in the history of the sport.

While he remains the owner, I simply can't believe the Clippers will ever be truly and sustainably good. I can't believe Blake Griffin re upped with them like that knowing Sterling's past. I simply can't bring myself to believe CP3 will extend with them either. If he had some pride, he wouldn't.

Maloofs will start trying to cater to people on the North End and Shore drive, I can feel that mess coming.

Also agree that the way these "cities" work with each other is just weird. I wish they would just come together to make one big city, but VA beach is too conservative and making money to want to be bothered with literally being attached to the hip with a city like P-town or Bad News. It will happen only if they powers that be feel they can make more money combining then being seperate. I wonder if federal funding would change if all 7 cites did combine into one???
Nba games are cheap. At least they've always been for me when I want to punish myself at a wizards game.

Recent meeting with VA governor, VB mayor and George Maloof. I'm still hoping.

LOL! It says they would play at the TED for two seasons! That would be awesome and awful at the same time. I graduated in '08, the year before we got a football team. Just my luck.

Financial details have been worked out and VB is about to formally ask state for funds.

Probably no one cares, but I'm still excited.

Yah I don't think the area has the corporate support

There are no companies in Virginia beach, just thousands of houses and fast food.
The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

Why in God's name wouldn't the Kings or any other NBA team go to Seattle first? They wouldn't even have to figure out how to rebrand themselves, the city still has the rights to the Sonics.

Yeah, that move seems to make much more logical sense. I still am a bit puzzled that Sacramento can't provide enough of a fan base but the Kings are also perennial losers and California fans are notoriously fickle.

My feelings on this are that it speaks horribly of the Maloofs that they would move away Sacramento's team when it's actually one of the best fan bases in the NBA. They do support that team and it used to be the toughest home venue in the league despite how awful their history has been.

I'm a battered fan. I have no interest in moving from one abusive franchise to another. I do not want to root for a team owned by the Maloofs.

This sounds comical to me. There is no way Maloof is bringing the Kings to Va Beach. They'd want the Washington Market, and obviously won't get that.

Va Beach can't be anything more than leverage against Seattle for the Maloofs.

Also, Bob McDonnell sure does like to spend government money when it makes no sense at all, huh?

ARCO Arena is a dump. I went to a Wiz-Kings game in Dec 2004 there, and that place was falling apart. It is literally in the middle of a subdivision about 20 minutes outside of downtown Sacramento, and close to the airport. Pain in the ass to get to, pain in the ass to get out of. No public trans close. And it is OLD. Built in 1988, and in dire need of major renovations.
