Mark my words, this one move will cost us a game, if not more than one.

I don't hate the move. I liked Gano and thought he just had some bad luck last year with the blocks. But Cundiff isn't bad.
Stupid move!
100$ says Gano is signed, by the weekend.
Akers all over again, imo.
Hopefully he sits in free agency, but he's got too good a leg for that to happen.
Somebody will snag this young kicker with a leg.
Which leads me to my next question?
How is Billy Cundiff on Kickoffs?
This move makes zero since.
And I agree with others...
I would rather have had Rackers over Cundiff.

Graziano's take on the decision - looks like a kickoff move as much as a FG move.
Gano misses enough kicks in the regular season that we are not even in a position to let him choke in a playoff game
Maybe I am mistaken but I thought he missed the most kicks last year.
And what was up with his short diagonal kickoffs - was that him or Danny? I dont see other teams bother trying that stunt.

I understand releasing Gano, on account of he is terrible.
But why would we go with Cundiff over Rackers? Cundiff stinks.
From Wiki:
"On January 2, 2011, Cundiff recorded his league-leading 40th touchback, which tied the NFL record set by Mitch Berger. Berger performed his feat in 1998 with the Minnesota Vikings, playing at home in the indoor Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome before the NFL instituted the K-ball rule (where a brand new set footballs had to be used for every special teams play each game). Cundiff currently plays at home in the outdoor M&T Bank Stadium and set the record after the institution of the K-ball rule. He averaged 71.1 yards per kickoff to lead the league and had touchbacks on 51.3% of his kickoffs."
Cundiff: 84 touchbacks combined past two years. Gano: 41.

Not happy with this but what can I do but ***** and moan on here. Maybe Mike has a hunch about cundiff and felt this was the best move. I disagree and feel like others that gano was going to be good this year.
With this many Extremeskins poster against the move, it might be the best move possible.
I have nothing to say...![]()
Gone, but not forgotten... RIP RP
Have you all considered that maybe Gano has looked like **** in practice? Don't ya think the coaches might know more than us?
I was a Gano fan. Definitely was rooting for the guy. It's been my dream for us to develop a young kicker who then is on the team for the next 15 years. But if Gano ain't getting it done, he ain't getting it done.
After reading this quote, maybe it's not a bad move after all, "The 25-year-old Gano missed an NFL-high 10 field goal attempts last season, but five were blocked. He's made 74 percent of his attempts since joining the Redskins during the 2009 season, the second-worst percentage in the NFL over that span."
I'm also guessing the offense will be so explosive we will not need field goals just extra points and kick offs.
Hail Em Up
