This is going to be every year with Trent.
This is going to be every year with Trent.
Hard to blame coaches for injuries, but I can tell you this 100%... Down here in Norman there were three questions about Trent Williams while he was here:
1. Will he work hard/stay in shape over time?
2. Will he keep his nose clean and stay out of trouble?
3. Will he stay healthy?
OU fans got frustrated with Trent on and off for those reasons while he was here. None of them were secret. Drafting him was a calculated risk. He is a gifted LT, so I think it was probably a risk worth taking, but we can't cry in our beer too much when things we KNEW come to fruition.
I know this is OT, but I really agree with you about Davis.
The way our OL is protecting, (which is "not"), RG3 needs to be able to get rid of the ball quick. And for a while, there, I was wondering if Fred might be Our Next Cooley.
Best thing you can say about a receiver is "he catches the ball". And the impression I got was that Fred fits that description.
Taylor Jacobs- King of Practice
It is looking like Trent has some glass knees. But what I don't understand is why the coaching/training staff does not make him wear DonJoy knee braces on both knees for extra support like all college linemen wear. I don't care if it makes him a fraction slower because a slightly slower Trent Williams is 1,000,000 times better than Jordan Black! He is the one lineman that we can't afford to lose, so why not wear the knee braces???

Redskins RT Trent Williams has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee.
Bone bruises are no walk in the park, but it's an injury Williams could play through in Week 4. Williams played through the injury for a handful of snaps in Sunday's loss before departing. It's a major break for a team already ravaged by injury along its offensive line. Backup LT Jordan Black struggled mightily in Williams' absence Sunday.
Glad it is not more serious, but his knees are a problem. I don;t know if it is conditioning or what, but this is an ongoing problem for him and a concern. While he has not exactly been pro bowl caliber this season, Jordan Black should not be allowed on a football field again this year.....Lord he was awful
