So, on IR, or out at the moment is:
1. Our best WR, (Garcon) out at least through the bye week.
2. Our best TE, (Davis) out for the year, and who knows how good he'll be when he gets back
3. The projected starting RT. (Brown) Which might not matter, and he'll probably get released.
4. The leading rusher from last year.(Helu) Not a huge loss, but would provide a good change of pace.
5. The Long Snapper, (Sundberg) who's designated for return.
6. The (arguably) best defensive player on the team in Orakpo
7. The starting DE (Carriker). Very solid if not spectacular.
8. The backup NT (Chris Nield). Had a good rookie campaign.
Add that both projected starting safeties Brandon Merriweather (injured) and Tannard Jackson (suspended for the year for hitting the bong) have not been available. Merriweather was about to come back, and then ran into Aldrick Robinson, which set him back.
This is just crazy. That's 10 key players who are out. Either starters or key backups. I know every team has injuries, but this is a bit nuts. The depth is being tested. That's for sure.
