This is just our luck we would pay a guy 8 mil whose young and has a bright future and boom our training staff WOULD ruin it....yes this is on the training staff you cant just "miss" stuff like this when the pain didnt subside they should have dug deeper.

They don't usually use contrast for soft tissue injuries though. There's no real need to.

I would suggest they start getting a team of orthos together so they can at least double, and triple opinion check things.

Snyder is good at making money... use it on something useful.

I know MRI's aren't used on soft tissue injuries. Usually. My problem is that it took this long for a team of highly paid physicians and training staff to dx this condition when it persisted. That is what is unacceptable to me.

I would agree with developing an orthopedic collaborative.

I would also suggest firing our training staff and hiring an entirely new staff based on the team's injury track record.

    2. Our best TE, (Davis) out for the year, and who knows how good he'll be when he gets back
    3. The projected starting RT. (Brown) Which might not matter, and he'll probably get released.
    4. The leading rusher from last year.(Helu) Not a huge loss, but would provide a good change of pace.
    5. The Long Snapper, (Sundberg) who's designated for return.
    6. The (arguably) best defensive player on the team in Orakpo
    7. The starting DE (Carriker). Very solid if not spectacular.
    8. The backup NT (Chris Nield). Had a good rookie campaign.

Add that both projected starting safeties Brandon Merriweather (injured) and Tannard Jackson (suspended for the year for hitting the bong) have not been available. Merriweather was about to come back, and then ran into Aldrick Robinson, which set him back.

This is just crazy. That's 10 key players who are out. Either starters or key backups. I know every team has injuries, but this is a bit nuts. The depth is being tested. That's for sure.
We are also missing Chase Minifield and Jordan Bernstine - on IR both of which were rookies and would have been deep on the depth charts but both were promising players in limited action and camp - i also do not think we are done putting players on IR I think we may end up putting Garcon on IR and maybe even fletcher ... Then you look at other teams in the NFCE - such as the giants - who are charmed when it comes to injuries year in year out and you have to wonder if there is a reason to it or if it is just really bad luck ..

London Fletcher is hurt too. The word I have is its a hamstring waiting on an MRI. I sure hope he is okay.

Anyway, here are our main injuries: Garcon, Orakpo, Carriker, Davis, (and now maybe Fletch). Oh boy. These are some of our best players.

We actually have a lot more than that, as detailed by others. I noticed Gomes got hurt today too. Redskins have been bitten bad by the injury bug (as per usual I guess).

Is it just bad luck or what? Bad doctors? Bad trainers? A curse? I don't know but it stinks.

The press asked a Redskins executive about the salary cap penalty and the executive responded, "Ask John Mara." So the press asked Mara and he said, “What they did was in violation of the spirit of the salary cap. "

Oh I see now, even though there was no actual salary cap in 2010 according to the CBA, the "spirit" of the salary cap still existed. Thanks for clearing that up Mara.

I agree completely with that statement. Hints of "Cerrato" linger about in my head. lol. The Skins really need to clean house all the way...

If a patern emerges, it's generally caused by something. The amount of misdiagnosed and untreated injuries with this team is starting to make me believe the training staff is incompetent. I just don't see how this can continue to be bad luck or coincidence.

I think it's time for The Danny to sink a little more $$ into that training staff if he ever wants to field a consistently winning team. Seems like every guy that gets seriously hurt never comes back the same, and it is getting very frustrating, even more frustrating when it's consistently happened to us over the last few years, and management either is simply incompetent in this department (which is alarming), or they are willingly trying to go cheap, for which I would have no words if it were true.

So Garcon tears a tendon week 1 and it take us until week 7 to get it diagnosed? I defended the training staff earlier in this thread but if I was Shanny I would be tearing someone a new one at this point.

Yeah, unless the torn tendon occured recently than this is completely unacceptable.

For the love all things holy, what is the timeframe for Garcon and Meriweather to be back? The loss of Davis makes Garcon's return more urgent, and the safety play needs a jolt.

I still believe that we can get it done. 2 wins in a row before the bye, and we're back in business

You almost forget that Garcon is even on this team.

I think Garcon is easily our most talented receiver, but he is never going to be our #1. He gets injured way too frequently to warrant that status. He'll probably be another bust for us, but will at least produce on field when healthy. That's still a better deal than Randle-El or Lloyd.

I just don't know what to make of this medical staff. They messed up with Brown. They messed up with Orakpo, and now they messed up Garcon. Who knows what else. Maybe they DID screw up that idiot Landry.

Dan Snyder stopped bringing in big-name free agents, but now he brings in James Andrews' old ass to collect tons of money and the results have been equally abysmal.

In his presser Shanny just said Garçon has NOT torn a tendon. 'We should know more Wednesday' - whatever that means ......
