Whatever...who really thought Brown was gonna bring anything this year anyway...it was stupid of us to give him a contract to begin with since he hasn't done **** since he's been here. He will hopefully be gone in the offseason and we can try to find a decent replacement for the revolving door that is the RT position. Polumbus is terrible and should be a backup at best.

Here's to you, bubba! You will be missed.
Any update on Merriweather? I am assuming he is going to play.
I am so shaky on Brown I can't be sure, but I thought he initially had a pretty decent stretch before the injury flared up, and he was basically trying to play despite the injury, his play suffered and was shut down. Am I wrong?

I just re-read some of the contract info for Garcon.. "Garcon, who signed a five-year, $42.5 million contract, has missed six of the Redskins’ nine games because of a torn ligament in the second toe of his right foot." For 42 million, (and remember, it's the 2nd toe) I'd have the damn thing REMOVED!!!

Merriweather expected to debut Sunday !
I havent seen it discussed anywhere but I thought that Morris got a look at from the trainers last game. Maybe it was his shoulder? All i heard was more unanswered questions, why didnt we run Morris more?
I think regardless of how healthy he is now, we need a backup RB that teams think may get the ball. We are forced to run the triple option to a WR to have some semblence of a run game. Obviously Mike does not feel Royster (12 carries) is the solution.
I half joked the other day about maybe we should bring in Torain to see if he happens to be healthy. I see the Giants are giving him a look today. I kind of wish it was us, I think RG3 has a tough time throwing with Morris off the field.
IIRC Torain was cut when our run game became solved by Philly and teams afterwards. Only after The fall guy Torain was cut, did Kyle actually try a different run play. Instead of stretch left, we all saw the toss and new plays implemented . We kicked ass running the bumpkin once we finally ran something different. Torain may be injury prone (and maybe less than Roy or Royster) but we just need a pinch hitter, not an every down back. More often than not, he is a man among boys and think he and Morris can really put a hurt on defenses.

I must say our medical staff(and many people on ES) is less competent than any person Google searching for "plantar plate tear" or they love to see football players exude an unhealthy masochism, especially when said players aren't in the "old boys club" or their homeys like Cooley or Santana Moss. Insufficient rest will make fixing his toe a bigger issue than it could have been. The advice is to first employ conservative treatments WITH REST and other things like change of shoes or ice and then see if it gets better. If it doesn't, then you have to opt for surgery to fix it up SOMEWHAT. What Garcon is doing and the Redskins docs and coaches are allowing him to do is bound to make an already bad problem WORSE.
Not only that, but the docs are either ****ing incompetent or the Redskins are covering their tracks in that they couldn't diagnose this ****ing injury of his properly until late October. First it was in the bridge of the foot, then calling just an inflamed capsule while keeping his torn tendon under wraps. Well, then that info on the torn tendon got LEAKED out.

Yeah, it's not like the second toe works in conjunction with the big toe when pushing off the ground when running or making a cut. With nothing to replace the void created by the lost toe, I would suspect loss of balance would become a major concern. Also, amputating body parts is not exactly something ANYONE wants to spend money on unless it's removing a tumor or something.
Nothing too groundbreaking, but it sounds like Garcon will probably play on Sunday.

Redskins wideout Pierre Garcon returned to practice Thursday but is still experiencing pain in his foot. The former Indianapolis Colt who signed with Washington in the off-season stated:
“It’s gotten a little bit better,” Garcon said. “But when you go back to running on it, you can feel pain.”
The injury is serious enough that season ending surgery is still a consideration.
“At some time, you’ve got to be realistic and you’ve just got to have it and hopefully it’s a successful surgery,” according to Mark Maske of the Washington Post.
Garcon has missed four games in a row, but initially injured the ankle in the first game of the year. Garcon caught four passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in the Redskins’ Week One win over the Saints. He has 8 receptions for 153 yards and 1 touchdown in 2012.

Can't they just put a patch on it or cortisone that thing.
The issue is the best cure is complete rest, while playing on it risks making it worse. Plantar plate injuries often reoccur i.e. now he has it, the chances are it will come back again at some point. Surgery might help but then that will end his season.
It seems to me they didn't diagnose it immediately and that's the key in healing it. Having him run around on it for a few weeks was about the worst thing they could have done.
Oddly enough, while it isn't amputation, the surgery which might fix it involves shortening one of the bones in the foot. It's not something you'd do lightly if your career involves sprinting.
