In regards to Rak this really sucks. Time for the backups to really step up their game this week. HTTR

Welp, we weren't winning the SB this year anyway. Time to load up on D this offseason.

@Rich_Campbell : Shanahan: Fred Davis should be subjected to NFL concussion protocol after receiving an illegal helmet to helmet hit vs. the Rams.

Doug Williams went back in the game and won a superbowl on a busted knee.
Joe Theismann finished a game with his front teeth knocked out.

I guess they just don't make'em like they used to.

so when our guys who are hurt go on the field, stink it up, youll be the first to defend them for trying to play through it right? if garcon cant run or go full speed and it ends up costing them, youve got their backs because theyre tough? or orakpo misses a tackle cause his injury has him no where near 100% itll be ok because hes trying to play through an injury???? yea sitting guys is dumb when you have perfictly capable backups, wimps

I don't think losing Rak is quite as devestating as others do, but dropping two of your front seven starters for the year in week two is pretty brutal for sure.

Ouch. Orakpo REALLY smarts as he's our key rusher.

This is gona' be a LONG year on both sides of the ball. A defense losing pieces and getting exploited to ****. And an offense that will suffer as a consequence. Tough, tough break for RGIII. But one that will do him good in the learning process.

    Hail.

I definitely do not condone playing with an injury that could get worse because of playing with it. Playing with pain is part of being a football player....and yes, they should all be tough guy badasses.

It seems now that the Doctors really screwed up after the preseason game with Orakpo by clearing him to play. So last night they said they didn't see anything bad just like after the preseason game and today they say he re-tore his peck? Seems kind of fishy to me.

Shanahan says both Carriker and Orakpo will get surgery within the next week.

    Graziano
RT @Redskins: Shanahan says #Redskins OLB Brian Orakpo tore a different part of his left pec, also done for the season

Allow me to add my voice to the profanity-filtered chorus of **** and ****.

And here, I was hoping that our front seven could step up and hide how bad the secondary are.

that guy Russell ought to me ashamed for reporting bs.

anyways, we're ****** on D. I was worried more about the injuries than game yesterday.

This year is gonna suck...even more

On the plus side, Jenkins should get far more snaps in what is in effect his rookie year. And Worthington, who should of been on the 53 to start with, is back among the group which can only benefit him. Maybe Keenan Robinson get's some looks outside too now as the year rolls. I know their looking at him inside long term, but he's did a fine job on the edge in college most of the time. And maybe we bring White back from the Bucs. Another who should of made the 53 fro me.

In another rebuilding and development year, it's not all doom and gloom. For every negative and all that.

    Hail.
