The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."
I said Sunday..Garcon is done for the year. The magic 8 ball and voodoo stuff our medical ( and I use the term loosely) staff did not work. Rumor is they aquired some power crystals and magic bandages to treat him after the bye week. I am not a doctor but a "ruptured toe ligament" sounds awful. I maintain he did this flipping into the end zone and bet it comes out he did.

Want Garcon to get better? All Skins fanatic errr fantasy owners can release him immediately. And just sit back.
The fact that he got back out and blocked and took penalties, I think he can help our team still. It would seem we could outfit him with a special toe split a few tylenols and survive 50 plays.
Yes, him at half speed, has got to help our WR core. And certainly our DBs in a pinch.
I am afraid you have it right and nobody wants to admit it.
At this point, I think they need to IR Garçon.
This is the same injury (to a lesser degree) that is sidelining Sean Lee for the rest of the year. Might was well place him on IR and give someone else a shot to step up. Plus, you don't want him to make the injury worse.
Btw, after week 1 the team said Garçon had a "sore" foot. I wonder when the tear actually occured? Was it week one or week 4?

Landry has been on the Jets injury report since week one.

We seriously have a horrid medical staff. I'm gonna have to add the medical staff next to Danny Smith in my sig. Haslett too.
Danny Smith, Medical Staff, Haslett... all gotta go.
Jamal Brown has complained about his treatments, Landry ripped our medical/training staff and he's healthy this year, we seem to constantly be the most injured team in the league.
1 year o.k.. bad luck..
but this is a repeated freaking pattern.
We cant have half our offense or defense get injured every year.
It's literally half too....
last year was Hankerson, Jamal, Kory, Cooley, Hightower, Helu was hurt awhile, then on defense, Jenkins, Golston, Baker, Landry and Buchanon.
Those were all starters... 12 IRed starters
This year... Orakpo, Carriker, Merriweather (hasn't really played), Garcon, Helu, Davis, Fletcher (not looking good).. already 7 starters... and we arent even half done with the season.
yeah IR Garcon...
chalk this one up as another major disappointment.
Come back healthy next season

London Fletcher might not be able to go this weekend according to NFL.com. That would end the longest active consecutive game streak in the league.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...reak-in-danger
I hope he can go, not only because we are a better team with him on the field, but also because I would like to see him keep the streak going. It doesn't look good though. After playing in 231 consecutive games over 15 NFL seasons, London Fletcher has earned the benefit of the doubt.
But two separate health issues have placed the Washington Redskins linebacker's amazing playing streak in extreme jeopardy.
Fletcher, 37, injured his right hamstring in the second half of the Redskins' 27-23 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. He also has been dealing with balance problems that he reported to the team Monday.
According to The Associated Press, Fletcher attended practice Wednesday but didn't participate. He told reporters, "I did what I could," as he limped off the field. He made two doctor visits after practice.
Fletcher hasn't missed a game since coming into the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the St. Louis Rams in 1998. He and Ronde Barber usually are tied on the active list for consecutive games played, but Fletcher has a one-game edge because of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' bye week.
This is a streak that doesn't get near the publicity it deserves.
The hammy we already knew about, but the balance things sounds weird. I heard on NFL AM he saw a neurologist for that.

The press asked a Redskins executive about the salary cap penalty and the executive responded, "Ask John Mara." So the press asked Mara and he said, “What they did was in violation of the spirit of the salary cap. "
Oh I see now, even though there was no actual salary cap in 2010 according to the CBA, the "spirit" of the salary cap still existed. Thanks for clearing that up Mara.
Garcon's done, I have no expectations he'll be able to contribute anything of note the rest of the season. These injuries where rest is chosen over surgery tend to have questionable results.

I get your point, but can you really blame the training staff for some of these injuries? It's football, injuries happen.
I don't think we are better with Fletcher on the field he is the 4th worse ILB in the league covering TE's and misses tackles.... he can be there to hype guys up but let the rookie show if he can carry the load or show we need to draft london's replacement in 2013. I respect what London has done for this team but it's time to phase him out and move on...
