Garcon has been diagnosed with a plantar plate tear. Below is a site that explains the injury and discusses treatment options.

I read Garcon is "resting" instead of surgery. Not sure what that means in terms of a return, but I've heard the Philly game post-bye.
Only the Redskins could lose their 2 best WR options (Garcon, Davis) on plays where one was barely touched and scored a TD, and the other wasn't touched at all on a play that never should have happened.

I agree, if Garcon can't go put him on IR and get healthy. I would like to see us bring Plaxico Burress in for a look, and give Griffin a big target to finish out the season. He is hungry and I think he still has a lot of football left in him.
Plax's locker room issues are a concern for me. I think he can still play. And is a big red zone target. But we seem to have a good locker room right now and unfortunately Plax doesnt fit.
I wouldn't spend a penny on a WR..but you're right, there are some good ones out there.
Just for kicks, in case Garcon is plagued by this injury for the forseeable future (and for other depth purposes), here is a list of the 2013 WR Free Agents. There are some notables here:

Eventhough it will be very unlikely, I would like us to get Cruz just to see the look on Mara's face.

I understand your concerns, of course that has to be taken into account. But like you said, he is a big red zone target and I think the man has been humbled and is hungry - besides the fact I would love to see him pull down the winning TD when the Giants come to FedEx in December. Just would like to see them bring him in for a look and workout.

I can and WILL play Redskins games too in the future...
And he is playing like crap. PFF ranks him #72 out of 76 safeties in the league below DeJon Gomes (who Haslett won't let on the field any more) and waaaaay below Madieu Williams who we all know is pretty awful. Landry may be playing but he likely would be worse on our team than what we currently have. Also waaaay below Reed Doughty.

"That's not enough rings," Griffin said. "We've got to get more."
"Alright, Sammy," Griffin said. "I'll see you later."
