Default Better DC Debut - Strasburg v RGIII?

Strasburg and RGIII have delivered the two of the most memorable DC athlete rookie debuts in modern history.

So simple question - who had a "better" DC debut to YOU - Strasburg or RGIII.

Strasburg - 14 strikeouts (team record), 0 walks, fastballs reaching 100 mph, absolutely power domination and an overall electrifying performance in-front for a sold out home crowd.

RGIII - 19/26, 320 yards, 2 TDs, 40 points and winning in the Super Dome.

I am really torn on this, but I got to go RGIII because of the competition. Strasburg dominated a terrible team at home - RGIII crushed the Saints in the Super Dome. So I got to go RGII, barely.

Strasburg beat Pittsburgh Pirates at home

Griffin went away from home to hostile grounds of NO Superdome and kicked the Saints butt

RGIII won away while putting up 40 points. RGIII by a landslide.

Its close, but I give the edge to RG3

Pitchers usually have an advantage over hitters the first time out because they haven't been seen, its usually the opposite for QB's coming into the NFL.

I voted Strasburg. He dominated an entire team and it was beautiful. And he's been consistent.

Football by nature is chaotic with ebbs and flows. A guy can rush for 200+ one week and only 60 yards the next. If RGIII continues the great play, then I'll know it was him and not a fluke.

Nothing about his performance was a fluke

Voting for this is based on one game, not past or future games. Griffin wins.

    RG3
    Ovie
    Then
    Strasburg

I'm not surprised Ovie wasn't mention as most weren't on the bandwagon or high on the Caps given their poor play then but his debut was amazing. First shift he put a guy through the glass, 2 goals, and was all over the ice. He dominated.
Hail Skins .... whether we win or lose ... I have faith in this team.

I was so incredibly amped when he checked that poor guy into the glass on his first shift.

I was in college watching it with the rest of the hockey team and we were just happy it wasn't blacked out in Harrisonburg. When he did that we went nuts, then the goals and the celebrations ... I thought my god I'd never be as excited about a rookie as that but RG3's performance yesterday gave my chills. Ovie better continue to step his game up because it won't take long for the papers to go back to ignoring the Skins to talk about RG3 (well deserved and I'm ok with it) Harper and Strasburg.

I'll go with Strasburg, but not by much. Hitting a round ball with a round bat, squarely, is probably the hardest thing to do in sports. A hitter gets .3 of a second to decide whether to swing...and that's just the decision. With someone that throws gas like Strasburg, they probably get a little bit less time than that.

Downplay the Pirates all you want, they're still a big league team.

As good as RG3's stat line was, someone will replicate it or have a better performance sooner or later.

I think striking out 14 or more batters while walking 0 has only happened a total of 3 other times since Strasburg did it in 2010. I looked it up on baseballreference.com but I have to pay 36 bucks a year to see the pitchers and the dates. However there were 4 total results, one of them presumably was Strasburg.

RG3 had the second best rookie QB debut in NFL history!.... 320 yards is better than Payton Manning threw on his rookie debut, and everybody else in league history except Cam Newton.
    Wow..

Very true... I think its easy to say Strasburg had the very best pitching debut of all time though. 14 K's with 0 walks. Wow.

Its close, but I give it to Strasburg.

    They are both studs.

How about Ovechkin? He scored two goals in his debut.
