Strasburg probably had a better performance. His was flat out domination. RG3, maybe due to game plan, didn't seem to do as much in the 2nd half compared to the first. However, I don't watch as much baseball, and I'd be willing to bet on a football message board, more people (like myself) will vote for RG3 regardless, haha!

Just be thankful we have both here in DC. I know I am.

This is a tough call. Stras struck out 14 in his debut and no walks and it was nationally televised. RGIII made history yesterday with his performance, and it was the FOX national early game. So I'm going to say this is a push.

RGIII did things yesterday that no other rookie QB has done. Plus, he played against a much tougher team on the road no less.

That an insanely good stat line.
    And 14 K's and 0 walks isn't? Lol.

That said RGII because he was on the road against a good team. The Pirates sucked that year.

Better question in 4 months will be who had the better rookie year: Alex Ovechkin or RGIII?

RGIII will win because it's a Skins board and because people live in the moment.

Depends how the rest of the season goes for RG3. Will he have a Cam Newton type year? I doubt it. But he could still have a very good season.

He's the only rookie to ever throw for over 300 yds, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs in their debut.

Here's a question, if RG3 somehow gets us to the playoffs, will they automatically make it a better rookie year than Stras or Ovie?

    RG3, without discussion.

Because football is important and baseball isn't.

Oops lol, I meant RGIII will win this specific poll because people live in the moment. As for OV or RGIII, RGIII would have to finish as a top 10 player in the NFL to match Ovechkin's rookie year.

No, it wouldn't IMO. That would mean the Redskins as a whole were pretty good. But Stras also was shut down early in his rookie year. Ovechkin was drafted onto the worst team in the league so not a fair comparison.

I think we are overstating this "nationally televised" thing for Strasburg. It was on MLB Network, but it is not like it was Fox national game. As much buzz as their was for that game, MLB Network just does not get a lot of ratings. I am fairly certain that a lot more eyes saw RGIII than saw Strasburg's first start.

there were a lot more eyes on the Jags/Vikings game too, was that game a bigger deal than Strasburg's debut?

The point I was making with mentioning Strasburg's game being on national TV was down to how different that was than any other Nats game that year.

Strasburg's performance was also the lead story on Sportscenter.

I voted RGIII: Previous years would take 3-4 games to get to 40pts.. There is nobody else. 16 out of 16
Love the Nats: Strasburg - 25 games out of 162. Gonz/Zim/Jackson ready to play any day.

I thought they were both equally impressive. It's as simple as that.

I haven't voted yet. I don't know the answer. I was at Strasburg's debut. The place was electric. It was magical. RG3's dominance over the Saints was also something for the ages. Both of them represent(ed) a coming glory for a franchise that has suffered years (or decades) of trashed hope and misery. Can I please vote "no way to pick?"
