Thread: Hero #2...Billy Cundiff

As happy as I was for the kick, i'm still far from comfortable with our kicking squad at this point. That blocked punt was huge for the saints and could have easily swung the momentum enough to cost us the game. From the replay it looked like Doughty missed the blocker but then again it could have been the long snapper when he broke his arm not sure. And as much as i love the effort of the long snapper the sad reality is for at least the next few weeks we will have moe inconsistency a that position, either from him having a cast on or the staff bringing in a replacement.

Weve stepped it up but i think weve still got some wrinkles to iron out before i stop holding my breath

How in the world did we score this guy? I wasn't paying attention. But I'm GLAD we did!

No kidding. The initial reaction I posted in the "Gano Cut" thread was, basically, "WTF?" But man, did Cundiff show why we brought him in (and why the Ravens might have made a mistake giving him the boot)--high touchback percentage and accuracy inside the 50.

I think Doughty has to take a lot of blame for the block. Sure, he got through clean but that's Doughty's job as the protector to pick that up. He went the wrong way where it looked like the blocking was holding up. He just didn't see the guy.

Well it looks like we got ahead of ourselves again, because this guy is a srcub. I hope they look into doing something about this, because we can't have a kicker that's going to miss 3 field goals in one game.

Haha I thought this was about today until I saw the dates. Gano would have nailed 1 of the 3.

I don't care if he did kick the game winner... the plane should leave without him. 3 manageable kicks missed in one ball game? Inexcusable!

Two of the three were manageable and one of those two should be automatic. The third was one you wouldn't expect Cundiff to make based on his history and would be a less than 75% kick for even a guy like Janikowski.
