Pros- he is a leader in touch backs
Cons-cant hit fg's over 50+yards--accuracy issues-his "job" is to make fg's - when he misses three people question your ability and why the ravens let him go- it's a momentum and morale thing- they wont cut him cause they blind sided rackers and gano when they cut both to bring him despite missing all pre-season camp and games---i would rather see rackers or gano at this point as more misses are coming
    Thats what I'm talking about!

Is Cundiff still a Redskin today?

    Default Kicker confidence

As the game went on, miss after miss from Cundiff enraged me to no end. Everytime he lined up and missed a kick I want to fire him on the spot. Especially the ones under 50.

But he's been given an unfair scenario where had he made the first 3 and missed the one that counted, he'd still be under fire and probably more so than given the performance he did have.

So, my question is this.. Do you feel like him making "the one that counts" boosts his mental state and if so, do you feel a little more confident now? I don't know about y'all but Vanderjagt (sp?) went on a downward spiral after he missed a big one. FOr the kicker, it's a major mental game.

Considering he didn't miss "the big one" I'm not worried at all. People sometimes hit slumps. All it takes is one to break it.

One could argue the reason he's on this team is he already missed "the big one".

I hate having a kicker you know can't kick a fg over 50 yards,...that's terrible.

He barely squeezed in the kick on Sunday, it was an unimpressive lucky break that probably bought him another half a season. He's going to even it out probably and then some...we'll be talking about how Cundiff should've been cut after the Bucs game...when he misses another big one down the road.

I'm not sweating what happened in the AFCCG. Harbaugh had a timeout to use, and he decided he'd rather rush his FG team onto the field to attempt the kick. Yes, he should have made it, but there were extenuating circumstances.

That doesn't excuse his misses by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm OK with Cundiff so far.

    Yep.

Shanahan said he is not bringing in any other kickers to try out this week.

So in Cundiff we trust (or he trusts ).
    HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!

He fits this offense. Shanny doesn't want to kick 55yd field goals on 4th and 2, he wants to go for it more often with RG3. Would rather have a guy who can consistently help with field position, and be more accurate 40 and under than a guy who can make 50+ yd field goals.

He had a bad game, it happens. He ended up making the kick when it counted. Hopefully he bounces back. Everything we have seen from him before this game is exactly what we thought, and it has worked out great.

Also, he almost made that 57 yarder, people rag on his leg but a) he kicks it out of the end zone so for some reason he can boot the ball with a running start and b) most kickers don't make that kick - we've seen Gano miss from that distance far worse. The short ones were bad but again....bad game, move on, hope for better.

I was going to address this. This one I didn't mind so much because it was near the end of the half, but the 41 and 31 yarders are indefensable. I think he has the leg to kick it from about 50-55 yards, but the question has been more of an accuracy thing from that distance, although that kick was straight on and originally watching it, I thought he had it.

Agreed. It's frustrating that the Rams can draft a kicker in the 6th round who setting records and we have been on merry go round crappy kickers for years.

I bumped this last week as well and I hope this is the last week I have to do it. Mike wake the **** up and fire this guy. I mean why in the hell does he still have a job. It's one thing to miss field goals from 50 back, but it's another thing to miss two 31 yd field goals in back to back weeks.
