2012 Targets, weekly check

posted a thread on what it may take to reach playoffs, "Targets to hit in 2012", so lets see how we did in week one;


Points / game > 24.4 we had 40 Check
Plays from Scrimage > 1068 is ave 66.75/game we had 70 Check
Yards / game > 381 we had 464 yards Check
!st downs per game > 21.4 we had 22 Check
3rd down % > 41.9 we had 4/15 = 27 % needs improvement
Penalties < 92 ave 5.75/game we had 12 needs improvement
Penalty yards < 780 ave 49/game we had 127 needs improvement
Time of Pos > 30:09 we had 39:10 Check
Turnover (net) > positive 10 ave .625/game we had 3 Check

so the Redskins have definitely improved in many areas, but still need to fix some gaps to have a playoff position.

I am very happy with a win, but the most telling thing to me was the effort of long snapper Nick Sundberg, we have some very motivated stars that get very little cheers in a year, playing a 1/2 with a broken arm to support HIS TEAM tells me we have great people on this team. HTTR all, lets see how we do in St. Louis.

really don't care about the 3rd down percentage as long as:
1.) they are getting a new set of downs every 1st and 2nd.
2.) they are getting a new set of downs from penalties
3.) they are scoring TDs and FGs
other than that, the only stat i ever look at is the W.
you get to the superbowl when you get Ws.
