Yes, people do get screwed by the schedule. In this case, the NBA got screwed by their own schedule.

Stern is crying because a little less money is going to be made over a match up between two teams that are perceived to be good. These types of games happen multiple times every week. No one would care about the match up between the Spurs and Heat a few days from now, regardless of who was playing. It's not a big deal. Stern is being beyond petty with how he's handling this.

That's ridiculous that they're getting punished for not playing their stars, when this has been a regular occurance for Pop.

I don't care that much for Stern either, but he is looking out for the fan on this one. If you were a Spurs fan who lived in Miami and this was your only chance to see them and you bought 3 tix. You would be pissed. You probably don't buy this tix if you know the best players aren't playing.
