Ive had an iphone after giving into all the hype, but i only had the iphone 4, not even the 4s. I was quite pleased with the phone it self, its a pretty neat device. But it go old for me quickly. People say you can customize the phone by jailbreaking it, which is nice, but the thing would crash on a normal basis and it would cost you a lot of speed because once you jailbreak it, you can notice how much slower your phone gets. I recently sold my phone and went back to my samsung focus (windows 7 phone) and am waiting to see what 2013 brings. The iPhones are nice, i think they are pretty cool. Especially the iPhone 5, its freaking blazing fast. But i have also played with the galaxy s3, and the galaxy note II and i have to say, the phones are pretty much even with the iphone. Theres not much the iphone can do that those 2 phones cant do. Just as there is not much those 2 phones can do that the iphone cant do. Im surprised they didnt put NFC on the iphone.
Im really hoping microsoft comes with their own device. I have always like the windows OS, there only knock is the fact that there app store (marketplace) is complete crap, and dont have many of the major apps. But hopefully that changes with windows 8. They really need to expand the marketplace. Rumors have it that they will come out with a phone branded with their 'Surface' line which would be sweet.
It really does just matter what phone you prefer using. previous iphone users will normally continue going with iphone. And others, with their phones. People said once you use an iphone, you wont want to or be able to use any other smartphone, but i didnt find it hard to stop using the iphone at all lol
the new blackberry I heard is supposed to blow the I phone out of the water, I am an Iphone user and will probably end up switching if all the hype is true
Apple has been producing its own mobile chips for some time and using them in iPhones and iPads. *speculation* is that EVENTUALLY they will be powerful enough to compete with intel and at that point they will start using their own chips in Apple desktops and laptops.

My computing life is Mac based, anyone else in this boat BUT does not have an iPhone? I"m due for an upgrade but I'm stronlgy leaning toward the droid razr m. Im not much of a specs guy—I think i'd be happy with either but need to see if there is an advantage to keeping all my devices in one platform. Not sure how often all will interact.
I have a question regarding photostream storage on the iphone 5, and scouring the internet has not provided me an answer. I am aware that photostream photos are stored in the cloud. But i'm concerned with how they are stored on the phone. Specifically, if a photo is both on my camera roll and in photostream, is it stored on my phone once, or twice? In other words, is the iphone 5 smart enough not to waste space storing the same file twice?
Knowing this may make a difference in whether i go with the 16GB or 32GB model.

I can't seem too start a new thread for some reason my privileges have been taken away but here is where the most iPhone vs andriod debates happen so I thought I would post here.
As everybody know I am a "iPhone fanboy" but I don't seem too see any excitement here what so ever about the new Galaxy s4. I am not bashing at all I think it's a great device but have we pretty much reached the mobile ceiling as far as the Wow factor? All I see here is a faster phone that's a little bigger and a little sleeker with a few cool camera features. Has it come too a point that really how advanced are these phones gonna get, they are packed with so much already that it's almost all you would ever need. The iPhone 5s or 6 whatever they decide too call it what could it possibly have? A bigger screen and a little faster too try and counter samsung then what.
I don't care about the look away from the screen and my video will stop when I can just press my thumb anywhere on the screen, it seems like that a we are going too get for now on is reaches. One cool feature that I thought would have been nice is the bendable screen almost making your phones glass invincible other than that I don't see nothing. No doubt that this phone and the new iPhone will sell like hot cakes.
