Getting to the point of no return soon. If this goes on past the 1st of the year, forget it.

I loathe both parties in the lockout, but there's not much I can do about it. At least I get plenty of beer league and college hockey to tide me over.
Embarrassment all around. From the players to the owners.
Put it this way...if there is a resolution to the fiscal cliff before these turds can't come to an agreement to salvage the NHL season, it will go to show that both sides weren't really serious about playing anyways.
It's cruel I have to go without hockey with the Wiz occupying the phone booth.
At least they've started negotiations again. It's better than the "nothing" they've been doing for the past two weeks.
Apparently there's progress being made this morning. It's like they finally started negotiating instead of pouting. The league could very well come back this afternoon and reject everything, but the players association appears to have made some significant concessions, hopefully the owners will follow suit and give a little in return.

We're hearing today's NHLPA proposal to NHL will include increasing the NHL's $211M Make Whole provision by another $180M.

We're also hearing the NHLPA proposal will work off a percentage of HRR -- as requested by NHL -- and not a guaranteed dollar amount.

Donald Fehr says sides are $182 million apart over the five-year deal.

The NHLPA expects a response from the NHL on the new proposal this afternoon.
Nevermind. Looks like the owners basically told them to shove it and no future talks are planned. The odds of the season being canceled are now pretty high. I hate them both and they've lost me as a source of revenue.
Shut the season down. Shut the mf'er down. It's no way they can reach a deal at all
Like I've said. It's a wrap. No All-Star game now.
http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/86...l-star-weekendNHL cancels games through Dec. 14
he NHL on Friday cancelled games through Dec. 14 and its 2013 NHL All-Star weekend scheduled for Jan. 26-27 in Columbus, Ohio, citing the absence of a new collective bargaining agreement between the NHLPA and the NHL.
A total of 422 regular-season games -- 34.3 percent of the season -- were scheduled for Oct. 11 through Dec. 14.
"The reality of losing more regular-season games as well as the 2013 NHL All-Star Weekend in Columbus is extremely disappointing," said NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly via press release. "We feel badly for NHL fans and particularly those in Columbus, and we intend to work closely with the Blue Jackets organization to return the NHL All-Star events to Columbus and their fans as quickly as possible."
