    Default A day for melting

This was a week for playing hooky. Walking to work, I just enjoyed the feel of the Sun and the slight briskness of the breeze. The temperature was in that perfect temperate zone that just makes you want to close your eyes and breathe deeply, to stroll and exult in the beauty and gift of a world we live in.

Yeah, I know... politics, debt, insanity and tragedy in the Middle East. Every day in the newsroom I'm inundated by the depressing aspects of humanity, but outside, there was a beckonning joy.

I didn't indulge much during the week. It was too intense, but today, I'm fleeing into brilliance. It's time to stop and find some roses to sniff, to feel the cushion of grass, and to chase the wind.

Hope wherever you are you too get to enjoy this day.

Nice post man...you can't help but be in a good mood this time of year.
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."

Not often that it's colder here but I'm loving it. High of 70 today! Wooot! Heading for the rio in a while, they lower the water this time of year and the dog just loves running around chasing birds on the sandbars. I love watching, hah! There is chile roasting going on in front of all the grocery store and it smells like heaven. And of course the biggie is football and winning last week is something to be enjoyed round chere!

Thanks, Burgold. Husband & I are in a debate about reincarnation. I've gotta go to work at 4, but I hope this thread is still running when I get home. Dealing with humanity...uugghh...but when you realize that you're really part of it...wow...he's a scientific engineer, I'm the daughter of a Methodist minister. You can imagine the talk 'round here.

hail, sir. you bring big thoughts to be thankful for.

    That sounds splendid, kao

Right now, I'm sitting in the shade on the national arboretum waiting for my girl to arrive... A sketch pad in my hands. My artistic muscles have gotten a bit flabby, but it's a beautiful moment

Nice post Burgold. I enjoy the heat (I'm a tropical people), but I love a nice cool down, breeze kicking up a little & cooling things down a little more. It's still a little humid, but if that were down a bit more & the breeze up a bit more, I would have the windows open, taking in the smell of autumn in Mobile (which smells exactly like summer, btw ). Yeah, this is a beautiful day to enjoy.

    I'm a little jealous.

85º & humid here. Heat Index of 96º.

Our weather will break around the election.

I was playing 3rd base at kickball today in town and I almost got kicked in the face with the ball, because it hit me just how incredibly beautiful it was today.
