With Hall gone and Fletcher not sure if he will come back this defense is going from 30th to 32nd in a hurry. The front office really hasn't addressed the defense. I know hands are tied with the cap and all but if thats the excuse they are going to use then get ready for a LONG 2013 season.
An excuse is if they had money and didn't fix the problem. The cap penalty taking away all our money isn't an excuse, it is a fact. What do you want them to do? "Something" or "just fix it" are not acceptable answers.

Well, they took a step in the wrong direction by cutting Hall. Good move if they were to sign Talib, but that backfired and now left with a secondary that really has nothing.

So explain how they were going to do anything if Hall was getting the 8 million this year he was supposed to get. He was the highest paid guy on the team we could get rid of.

Hall really didn't contribute anything to the team. I'd rather give guys like Crawford a chance to show what they can do than continue and pay Hall.

Hall didn't contribute anything to the team? Jesus Christ, could you overstate your case any further? Yes, he's a below average starting CB. But this is ridiculous.

Wait, so he didn't shut down Dez in the second Dallas game?

Nope, did nothing. Might as well be Haynesworth.

He did really step up in that game. But he was just too inconsistent. I think he really doesn't like Dez so he gave him all he had.

And the main reason is because RAK is a pass rush specialist, period! He is a great defensive end and has no business trying to cover TE's or WR's. I have never seen any other LB held more often than I have RAK, and there's a reason he has to be held.

Talib is as big a head case as Hall. And he wouldn't have come much cheaper. Glad we don't have either. Let them be someone else's problem.

Stop it! Do some of you people even watch the dayum games, or do you just listen on the radio

You're right to say I exaggerated a fair bit. Yes, he did shut down Dez Bryant for 2 and half quarters. And all things considered had a decent year.

But his value isn't at corner, it's at the "playmaker" position. And he had 4 INT's, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Not exactly eye opening numbers.

I'm all for bringing him back on a reduced salary (http://www.redskins.com/news-and-eve...3-8cfa4dfdbb9a) and I was surprised he didn't restructure. Granted, he'd have to take a HUGE pay cut (Down to about $2M) for him to be valuable IMO.

So no, he didn't contribute ANYTHING. But let's not sit here and pretend he made a difference on this defense. We'll be about as good as we were last year.

You can go back and read Kerrigan's post game comments from that one. He said it felt like every time he looked up after the snap, Orakpo was already back there trying to tackle the QB. He said it made it so much easier for everyone else.

Exactly if you go back an watch a lot of Kerrigan;s pressure and sacks came from Rak making Sam Bradford move towards Kerrigans side

And if I'm a coach, that's exactly what I'd want all of my players to say about each other to the media
