Of course maybe we'll get lucky and out backup LB will play well enough we can trade one of them when Rak comes back next year. Wilson will be rotating with him after all
Wilson who was out of the NFL after being cut by a couple teams and White backs him up too, but we had already cut him once this year.

What did the Briggs trade net the Bears? Who were the teams interested?

Maybe we can trade Orakpo to one of the teams like Pittsburg or the Patriots for all of their superbowl rings from one season and we can pretend we earned it.

Simply, no. Jackson is a good backup who may one day be starting material but he is nowhere close to being the player Orakpo is atm.

So what are the pro Jackson (trade Orakpo) thoughts after this week? Just curious if everyone still saw the same they saw in Jackson's first start? To me, he seemed a little slower and hesitant in run support and wasn't able to get to the flat very quickly

I don't understand why there is this big of a debate on this at the moment. There is no way of knowing the answer to this this early. I will say that if he becomes what he was in the game against the Bengals then yes. If he stays like what he was in the game against the Bucs, then no.

I like Orakpo though. I don't know about Jackson but Orakpo is huge and intimidating as heck. Just sucks that he rarely plays.

Come on, rarely plays? Where did that come from?

I meant that it always seems like something is going on with him. I'd love love love to see him play a full season though. I think he is an amazing player.

How much did he play last year cause I honestly cant remember. Don't crucify me, I'm a teacher and my students are working on their laptops. I'm having to watch them like a hawk so I can't really think too awfully much about football.

Before this season he had missed one game in his career.

Then I retract my previous statement and rephrase it to "It sucks that he is missing the entire year and I hope its not a reoccuring problem." My bad.

I just hope yesterday ends this debate,
"If Shanahan has a signature, it’s his faith in the young, seemingly undersized marginal, try-hard player, guys who have a hint of desperation, who play, as he puts it, “like every game is a playoff game.”

I would say that Donald Penn is a good (and very big) left tackle who has owned Orakpo in the past as well.

    Nothing to see here.

    EDIT:

In case you don't believe me... in 2009, as a 4-3 LB... he had 7 tackles and 1 sack.

In 2010, as a 3-4 OLB, he face Penn and had 2 tackles and 0 sacks.

Wouldn't say he dominated Orakpo - 7 tackles, 5 solos and a sack isn't bad - he did own him in the 2nd game though so I will give you that.

Wilson seemed to be able to get around him a few times yesterday

He wasn't going exclusively against Donald Penn as a 4-3 LB in that game. It's been a while, but I think he mainly lined up on PDs side so he would've drawn Trueblood or a tight end.

EDIT: And Wilson got around him? I don't think so. I didn't see anyone beat him.

Anybody who says Orakpo isn't important to this defense and is replaceable, doesn't have any idea what they are talking about

Anyone care to continue making this argument? The lack of pressure has been obvious, IMO. Kerrigan is still ballin but the front seven looks ugh different to me.
