Hmm, interesting theory on the bank accounts, but I interpreted it completely different.
The way I saw it the opening sequence was simply Dexter thinking about what steps to take next after being confronted by Deb, and playing the scenario out in his head.
Pearlman writes that Michael Irvin, incensed that tackle Everett McIver, in mid-haircut, would not leave a barber chair at training camp in 1998 so Irvin could get his haircut first, stabbed McIver in the neck. McIver was rushed to the hospital and survived, but not without losing a lot of blood. Irvin's silence on the charge has been deafening. I asked a Cowboy who played on that team if the story was true. "Absolutely,'' the Cowboy said. "I'm surprised it was kept quiet over the years.''
Last night made wonder some more as to just how much of what Dexter does is because his father tried to manage him the way he did.
Great starting episode for the season. Definitely looks better than last season.
Why do I get the feeling that were gonna find out that last scene of the episode was a dream or something like that?
Yeah, it wasn't a dream.
I'm glad they didn't turn Deb into an idiot that ignored all the obvious signs and she actually put it together.

Hmmm, there's 3 previews here. (and obviously spoilers if you haven't seen last night's episode)
Whoa. I didn't realize that Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah from Chuck) will be having such a big role in the show this season.

The first episode was great, i'm really interested to see how they do this. I think Deb is will begin to develop full on resentment towards Dexter and the way Harry treated them differently. But how will it affect what she now knows about Dex?
I bet Deb actually swings around eventually to back Dex and not try to change him, maybe even becomes a supporting asset.
And why exactly does the nice smart hot baby-sitter like the creepy douche guy?

"Captain, it's a viewpoint--not one of ours! We're under attack!"
"I see it, ensign! Engage amygdala! Transfer all power from frontal lobes!
Suspend critical thinking field! Go to course heading of reflexive response 101 at full bias!
Now!'Enter' at will!"

I kept thinking that Dexter and Deb were going to start making out.
