I DARE the Redskins defense to prove me wrong. I want to be proved wrong. I want to come back on here next Sunday and say, well the defense made me eat some crow. Nothing would make me happier.
I couldn't agree with this more! This is the third game where we had at least a 14 point lead and let it slip, we should at least be 3-1! This team is gonna have to learn how to keep their foot on the throat of their opponent the whole game. Here's to hoping it starts this Sunday! Hail!

Team Rank Yards/Game Yards Against Atlanta
    Kansas City #2 173.5 152
    Denver #14 109.0 118
    San Diego #17 100.0 116
    Carolina #11 122.0 199

Redskins are #1 rushing at 175.5 Yards/Game. We just thrashed the #1 rush defense in the league for 160 yards, more than they gave up the first 3 games combined... We have a chance.
That is a quality post right there and pushed my hope/optimism meter a little in the right direction.

They have one of the worst run defenses in the league and our strength on offense is our running game. We have one of the worst pass defenses in the league and their strength on offense is the passing game.

Which do you think will lead to more points, quickly: passing at will or running at will?

Not to mention that along with being ranked 29th in rushing defense, they have given up almost 600 yards (585) on the ground so far, at a 5.2 ypc average.

Obviously passing. But limiting the time that a team has the ball and therefore limiting the chances they have to pass is HUGE. Besides, our team has been doing a decent job getting hands in passing lanes and getting interceptions. All it takes is one tipped pass to be intercepted to swing the possession battle.

We also have a strong passing game. We can score quickly if need be. If we get out to an early lead and get a few stops, that's when the running game comes into play and starts gashing them. That's how we win.

Jones and White are the real deal.
Not just playoff games that matter; playoff games period. Under Matt Ryan they're 0-3 in the postseason, 2 of which were blowouts, and 1 of them they were shut out offensively (their only score that game was a safety). They were in the 2nd round of the 2010 playoffs because they had a bye. Ryan IMO has gotten more praise than he's deserved over the years; to me he wasn't even top 10 until last year.

    With our secondary, though..........

Um, what? Griffin has taken nothing but hits in four games, and he bounces back up then leads the team on a TD drive.

The soldiers gave three cheers as they urged their tired horses north across the uneven hills. Some of the mounts, exhausted after a week of almost continual marching, began to lag behind; others, spurred on by their enthusiastic riders, began to edge past the regiment's commander. "Boys, hold your horses," Custer cautioned; "there are plenty of them down there for us all."

ATL has the best receiver core in the league. The whole game should look something like the 2nd half of the Bucs game.... Have you see those huys play 0.o
Ah but my friend this is where you are wrong. I am the one who started the thread on how many games we will win this year and I said 7. So not delusional at all. Just that this game has feeling of a win for us that is all.

I see RG3 with 300+ passing yards and 2 TD's in the air, plus another 60-70 on the ground + a rushing td.

I'll be at that game so it should be a good one!
This is why I have this feeling. Just like in NO game. We controlled the clock. Didn't let Brees on the field to do much.

Being the on field with our run game and make the clock tic-toc while Matty on Ice stays cool on his bench.

Big Falcon fan here...but I come not only in peace but with some admiration for what I believe you guys are building.

I was talking some trash with a Panthers fan last week. I told him that RG III will have a much better career than Cam Newton. Griffin already reads defenses better than Cam and doesn't come close to presenting the unnecessary "head case issues" that Newton does.

Strongly believe this will be a real tough test for my Falcons. We have been exposed with our run D.....Nolan is a very good D coordinator but he's essentially trying to field a good defense with our old coordinator's players. We were also short a couple of picks this year because of our acquisition of Julio.

The area where you guys might have problems is matching up with our reenergized passing game. Ryan isn't just playing well this year...if you add the stats from the last 6 games or so from last year he's throwing up some great numbers....and the problems in trying to handle the triple-headed monster of Gonzo, Julio and Roddy White is pretty self-evident.

Think it will be a nail biter.....Will be pulling for you guys the rest of the year....after Sunday of course.
