Moss was always my favorite of the U crew under Gibbs 2. I love that he rarely runs his mouth and just plays the game.

Michael Westbrook in the top 10. We've really had very few great receivers.
The game in dallas made Moss a Redskin legend forever. I'm glad he has stuck it out and had such a solid career. I think he could have a decent year this year too if they use him right. Find the matchups and exploit them. He doesn't have to be the go to guy, so find ways to get the mismatch.

Hankerson still seems affected by his hip. In other words he's not completely back to his rookie form. I expect he'll be better next season vice this season. He will continue to progress this year, though.

Vinny Cerrato believes he gave Jim Zorn a roster that can make the playoffs. A playoff kicker doesn't miss that kick. A playoff safety doesn't bite multiple times by a double move in the same game.Originally Posted by suze109
I love Santana Moss, easily one of my favorite Redskins of all-time. Probably the number one Redskin as far as players I have actually seen play.....
But when I see those numbers in the OP, it just makes me think about just how much of a beast Charley Taylor and Art Monk were.

God shut up about freakin hankerson already, make a thread about him in 8 years of he's earned it. History shows only 3 redskins wr's have done what moss has done, numbers wise, and on top of that you have unforgettable moments like that Monday night in Dallas and the overtime game winner against the panthers.
I've always loved Santana. He's been a good weapon on bad teams for so long. He is one player that I am okay with keeping around for the up and up ride as we get better and possibly make a run because he's still productive.

Yeah. It helped that his second game was the Midnight Miracle. It also helped that he revamped the passing in 2005 to take us back to the playoffs. He was less of a head case than Taylor was earlier in his career. Also, it might be that I love Redskin WRs. Monk, Brown, Clark, Sanders, etc.

I absolutely love Moss. With all the attention and love he was getting in the offseason and with Garcon going down early week 1, I was REALLY hoping to see him put up ~800 yards this year and go over 10,000 career receiving yards here with Washington. It's not looking like it's going to go down that way this year which disappoints me because Moss has meant so much to us it would be really important for that to happen here. Either way, he'll always be one of my favorite players and I'd be lying if I didn't say I have a different kind of excitement when he catches the ball on offense - not like when Garcon or Davis get the ball and I feel like something big is about to happen - but because I know he's going to get the first down and I'm just happy to see him getting his touches. Glad to see him still out there and working hard despite the lack of touches/playing time. Kinda like our version of Donald Driver.
Probably get to that tomorrow. At a glance he's sitting at seventh and not getting any higher. On that list, Charley Taylor, Hugh Taylor and Jerry Smith were absolute beasts as far as TD to receptions ratio. Hugh Taylor benefitted from being 6'4" which was a giant at receiver in the 40s and 50s. He's listed as an "end" so I do not know how that translates into today's offense except that an end could either line up with the line or split out.

We get it, you hate Hankerson. We can still talk about him. Guess what? I think Hankerson can do what Moss has done. if it pisses you off that I said that, I just might say it again.
