People look at you like you're crazy when you yell, scream, and cheer your team at Fed Ex Field. I've seen people actually COMPLAIN and try to get people thrown out for STANDING UP on 3rd and 4th downs, or key situations during the course of the game. I have seen it numerous times - can you imagine that? You're having a great time and cheering and people get an usher to remove you. WTF???

You can't stand for a full game in an all-seater stadium without being a complete jackass to everyone behind you. If they all want to stand, fine. But the different age range and make-up of a crowd often doesn't make that possible. The only way around that is for the Redskins to introduce standing sections for the most vocal of fans. But I doubt that would get past the safety certificate for an all-seater stadium. (Within the seated sections. I appreciate they've gone someway toward that with the standing party decks.).
There's a time to stand, and a time to sit. It's not like you can't be just as vocal sat down.

That's just plain stupid. You should know exactly the type of environment your entering when you attend a football game. If people can't stand up and get involved in key situations, what's the point in attending in the first place? And if the Redskins stewards throw people out for that then they need to learn about a football crowd too. If it was persistent, then that's one thing. But what you mention is a complete different thing again.
The same way people who take kids complain about bad language. It's a darn football game with all the passion and emotion that entails. You can't expect people to curb that emotion in the heat of a game. The decent among us try when kids are in the vicinity, but the moment of the game often takes over. Until such a time as the Redskins introduce a family section, which would be another great move the organization could make to improve things at FedEx; folk need to appreciate the environment their taking their kids into. And not expect everyone around them to change for them. Rightly or wrongly, a football game is just about the only place where that is acceptable due to the emotions and passion involved.
Hail.

Step 1: Ignore Offensive Line
Step 2: ??????
Step 3: Super Bowl!!!
Yeah.. I know what you're talking about. Last year for the girls game I was in the endzone dream seats, and of the ENTIRE row, I was the only one yelling and screaming like a madman, making noise for the D.
The people next to us looked at me like I was from another planet... and they sat in their seats the whole time and didn't utter a peep, except to ask the hotdog guy for a water or coke.
What a couple of clods. At least they didn't say anything, just gave me disapproving looks... sad.
Barry Cofield is LEGIT... no more nonsense about we need a "real" NT... HE IS THE REAL DEAL!!!! He goes to the Pro Bowl this year, book it!!!
I've never seen an usher remove anyone from the stadium. I've seen the PGPD drag people out after fights, etc. but not the ushers.
yes! Exactly. Sometimes when I feel like actually enjoying the game I sell my tickets (because the upper deck is full of fans from other teams anyway (they all sit around me every game) I move to the lower bowl. the lower bowl is the ONLY place to enjoy the game in my opinion.

I think the fanbase as a whole gets unfairly criticized. Hard to compare to RFK because the stadiums are completely different and more importantly, there has been a 20-year culture of mediocrity that was exactly the opposite in the 80s and early 90s.
That said, one thing that I will say is that there is no excuse for fans missing kickoff. I've been to almost every home game over the past 5 years and one issue is that fans simply prefer to finish their tailgate instead of watching the start of the game. As far as the traffic being an excuse, there's a simple remedy there too: leave earlier!
Maybe these will change when the team starts winning consistently.
And it has created a loud stadium that is totally over-rated as a homefield advantage. Look at their home field record the last three years.
