Geez, I didn't realize how horrible we've been at home. I mean, I know our home field advantage was lacking, but I didn't know we dropped 7 straight at home. That's terrible. I hate FedEx.

I posted this in the "Everything...about FedEx" thread, and thought it belonged here as well:
Anyone go to the VT-Cincy game last Saturday? I sat in row 27 of sec 121. on the 47 yard line, visiting sideline. We stood the entire time the VT D was on the field. We sat when the offense was on the field. We stood whenever a big play/TD happened. But on D, we stood and yelled the entire time the D was on the field. That is what Seattle does that creates the homefield advantage. That is what we did in RFK to create a homefield advantage. If the LL of FedEx stood and yelled the entire time the D was on the field, FedEx would have a homefield advantage. The opposing team would struggle in the huddle and they would have a hard time calling inaudibles inside 10 seconds o the play clock (you know, like Eli and Romo do constantly after diagnosing the D?). I understand not wanting to stand, I do. But in reality, standing and screaming is what CREATES the advantage. There is nothing wrong with expecting a crowd to stand whenever the D is on the field. We can sit during the offensive drives, TV timeouts, between quarters, and at half. That would be more than half the game sitting with a homefield advantage (because we would have the ball more than 50% of the game).
I don't want to call people out. I don't want to get in a pissing contest about fan etiquette. But go to a major CFB game. The fans STAND and YELL whenever the defense is on the field. And the yelling pauses briefly between plays. At FedEx, about 10% of the crowd is cheering the entire play clock, when the team is huddled and calling the play. The rest get involved as the play clock winds down. The stadium gets loud inside 10 seconds, and on 3rd and 4th downs. We need FedEx to be loud on 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th down from the moment the ball is spotted. We need to make it uncomfortable for the QB. Make it hard for him to hear the call, and harder still to relay the call in the huddle. It is my dream to one day attend an NFL game at FedEx and feel like I am attending a CFB game. FedEx was rocking in 2004 for the VT-USC game, and again for the VT-Boise St game in 2010. So to those saying that FedEx can't be a loud stadium, I call BS. The fans are directly responsible for the noise level.

Popeman I hear you but that's not what a large portion of people who attend games are there to do and the ushers at the stadium side with them. If anyone complains, you will be made to sit and it seems like there's always enough complainers in a given section to stymie it.
If you think that's bad, you probably won't want to know our overall record at 'home' (I use the word 'home' VERY loosely as it sure as heck doesn't feel like home) is a losing one: 60-61-1. And it reads even worse against the NFC East: 19-26-1. (We're up 4-1 on the Cards in divisional play as well. But then we no longer face them twice a year sadly.).
In a league of only 16 games a season, just imagine how much better we'd be year-on-year if you we came out on top in the 8 home games. And just how many more play-off appearances we'd of had over the duration of FedEx's existence.
This **** needs to change. And needs to change FAST! ITS TIME WE RECLAIMED OUR HOUSE AGAIN!
Hail.

Like I said, I agree with the sentiment and a loud crowd can cause false starts, but from being in NOLA on opening day, and in the loudest stadium I've ever heard for a game and then watching RGIII just go make plays, I think sometimes we overate our impact. Good teams for the most part win at home, bad teams don't win much anywhere. The crowd has as effect, but it's marginal compared to the dudes on the field playing. I'll be there loud, cause it's fun.

You know what sucks?
Fedex has seats the closest to the field in the entire league... it should be impossible for opposing teams to hear anything in the endzones, but it often is almost just as loud when the skins are in the endzone.
That needs to change big time... RG3 keeps playing lights out and the stands will be packed and rowdy before we know it!
Barry Cofield is LEGIT... no more nonsense about we need a "real" NT... HE IS THE REAL DEAL!!!! He goes to the Pro Bowl this year, book it!!!
When Skins4Lyfe or whatever his name is, Tony we'll call him and I won the Best Buy dream seats and were right behind the Eagles bench, made made Ruynun laugh, McNabb look at us and DJax tell us to **** off.
Thanks again Tony, experience of my life.
Everygame I've been to, I get told to sit down and be quiet. It's a joke of a stadium and fan base and people feel so entitled to be there, like the team and the game, everything is playing in their real life tv set.
Yes you bought your tickets, but you bought tickets to be a guest in the Redskins HOUSE. You have bought into the task of being the 12th man. If you are able to do your job, stay the **** home and watch it on an actual TV.
Go to a Redskins game, get annoyed by jackwagons who can't hold their drink, get yelled at by cranky old asshats and sit in traffic for half a day. WooHoo, 7 in a row.

this is the answer right here...homefield advantage is overrated.
The better team will win ,home or away, a good majority of the time

I can't believe you're honestly comparing a college experience to the pros...
College games will always be louder..you know

Where to start? Let's start where everyone loves to start when talking about home field advantage and the Redskins. Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. The Sports Cathedral of the district. We look back fondly on it... maybe we even stretch the truth a touch about how awesome it was. Perhaps, forgetting the food was poo poo, the pipes leaked, and the sewage, I mean, bathrooms were not as clean as they should've been. That said... it was awesome. It was a dump, but it was our dump. The team was good, and we were willing to overlook a lot of imperfections. Crowds arrived early and were loud before and during games.[/QUOTE]
The team was good so the crowds were good. When the team started to nose-dive, we lost that magical homefield advantage, even at RFK.
You get a homefield advantage when you have a good team. Seattle went 4-4 last year at home. Because they stunk.
Well it's hard when you have clowns yelling and stomping when our offense is on the field. They must love going on the road because it's quieter. What happened to our fanbase being one of the smartest in the league? I understand the "I paid so I do what I want" thing. Swallow your pride, get over yourself, and please, yell and stomp on D or after a big play, not during the huddle or pre-snap.
