38-28 Falcons. RG3 puts on another show but ultimately Matt Ryan and the new "greatest show on turf" Falcons prove to much for this pitiful secondary.

In total yards per game.. the Skins are actually averaging 60 yards a game more than the falcons.
I think it's the combination of their offense and our secondary that's leading to a bit of "doomsdayism."

I picked us to win the Saints game and I think we need to play the same, dominate time of possession, to win this one. However, I think the falcons are one of the best teams in the NFL this year. We will have to play close to perfect to beat them. Lots of bend but don't break defense and holding them to field goals while we score TDs. I'll go out on a limb slightly. I live in San Diego and have therefore been watching Turners' career since he was a backup to LT. He had his chance to prove himself in SD, but couldn't run on the Pats in the Championship game a few years back. All that said, I just don't think he is all that good. My prediction is that we will stop their running game and Turner will have less than 75 yards. But that won't be enough this week. Falcons 38 Skins 24.

That's cause everyone is overating them.

The Bengals believe it or not.. average 30 more total yards a game than the Falcons. 10 more passing and 20 more rushing.

The Bengals beat us, but they were very beatable. On paper, the Bengals have a more prolific offense than Atlanta.

We have a more prolific offense than both of them.

--- and to add to that.. it's not like the Falcons have a way better defense... they have a good passing D.. but they are 29th against the run. We are 31st against the pass but are pretty good against the run. The Bengals had a much better overall defense than the Falcons do.

For everyone bashing the Falcons defense keep in mind how terrible we said the Bengals and Bucs passing defense was going into those games and they shut us down for long periods of time.

We did nothing in the 1st half against the Bengals and had to use the triple option get things moving which prompted about 15 threads on here questioning it. The Bucs shut us down pretty much the entire 2nd half with some help from us (missed FGs/penalties) too.

I always enjoy the irrational confidence from so many on this board. I expect an exciting game and we do have a chance but the Falcons offense is really dang good and has looked explosive against much better defenses than ours. We will have our hands full keeping pace with their offense.

    Falcons - 41
    Redskins - 28

If we beat the Falcons and our D slows them down, particularly the secondary...we are a playoff bound.

Everything you just said is wrong.

RGIII put up 221 yards passing and a TD against the Bengals and 85 yards on the ground for over 300 yards of offense.

RGIII put up 323 yards of passing and 60 yards on the ground for a total of almost 400 yards of offense on the Bucs.

Those numbers don't include Alfred Morris. That's RGIII alone.

As far as the Falcons offense...

    Season Averages through 4 games....

    Passing... Bengals 279 yards
    Passing... Falcons 267 yards
    Passing... Skins 242 yards

    Rushing... Skins 171 yards
    Rushing... Bengals 111 yards
    Rushing... Falcons 97 yards

Total yards... Skins 413 yards per game
Total yards... Bengals 390 yards per game
Total yards... Falcons 364 yards per game

    ...

So who is supposed to be the insanely good offense again?

out of the Bengals, Redskins and Falcons... the Falcons are 1st in zero of those catagories.
