Default Theismann: Romo isn't a very good QB

    http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/10...23&feedID=3742

"I think you have a couple of issues in Dallas," he said. "No. 1, I think you have a team, they think they're pretty good. They're not. No. 2, their quarterback thinks he's pretty good. He's really not. No. 3, their owner is their general manager and he doesn't make really good decisions from a personnel standpoint."

Man I love Theisman and believe he hit the nail on the head with this one.

Hahaha!! Very true. Maybe Theisman needs to shut it. The cowboys are doing a great job right now.

Why is it that the commentators for the sports shows keep saying things like, "We KNOW that there was a communication error and Dez Bryant messed up his route..." First off, how could they possibly know this 100%? Was someone interviewed from the Cowboys as saying such? The one play specifically, where Romo threw the ball to his left, where Bryant ran about 7 yards, stopped and kept going, is the one play specifically that these guys keep commenting on. In my opinion, he simply didn't know Romo was in trouble and was trying to get rid of the ball quickly, so he continued to run his route instead of adjusting to the pressure that Romo was under. The other interception was the one where I believe Austin was behind the Bears player who picked it and the commentators are all saying he should have ran in front of the defender. Regardless, Romo should have seen that his receiver was behind the guy and simply not throw that pass.

I feel like people are just reaching really high and trying to make every possible excuse for his horrible performance. It wasn't JUST Romo, as everyone made mistakes, but it's a little obvious at times that people really like this guy (for whatever reason) and don't want him to be blamed for much of this loss.

The hype rolls both ways with the Boyz, When they win they are the best ever, when they loose the world is coming to an end. Their fan base is huge but not nearly as football savvy as the Steelers or Packers. They overestimate their talent base and get short shifted by the most over rated football GM in the league.

Theismann is an idiot. Wasn't even the best player on his offense! Knows nothing about playing behind a s*** OL.

I guess he's still sour from his own MNF debacle against the Cowboys:

Edit: But yes, the Cowboys flat-out sucked on Monday. Romo deserves blame for some (not all) of his turnovers. Dez Bryant deserves a big pat on the back as well.

Definitely would prefer that JT kept his mouth shut on this one. Romo always plays well against us, and he'll be that much more motivated to do so against us on Thanksgiving after this. I realize Theismann doesn't play for the Skins anymore, but I'd prefer not to have anyone associated with the Skins spouting off about Romo or the Cowboys until we show that we can back it up. Like him or not, Romo has been a Redskin killer for a while now.

Exactly what I thought when I read this.

I'm sorry, but any QB who has a career 96.9 rating, 21,982 passing yards, 154 TDs, 80 picks (nearly a 2:1 ratio) is more then good.

Romo will never be Brady. Romo will never be Peyton, Ben, Rodgers etc.

But to say Tony isn't very good is a lie. He has played behind some of the worst offensive lines every year.

He is also the only undrafted starting QB in the NFL right now.

Joe threw 6 more TD's then Tony (who will pass that), 58 more picks then Tony. He also played behind the "Hogs", had Riggins and 3 of the NFL's best receivers of all time.

Tony's best receiver ... Terrell Owens.

I guess Hall of Fame QB's, who have won Super Bowls, never have bad games? I guess Joe never threw 5 picks ... . Brady threw 4 picks AGAINST BUFFALO. BUFFALO MAN! He just has the talent around him to overcome his issues. Tony does not.

Thanks, DM29. What people don't realize is that the Cowboys could very well have the worst OL in the league that only looks average due to Romo's mobility and improvisation. During the game, all I saw was Romo having to sidestep on basically every passing play in order to get a decent throw off.

Sure, he made some bad passes... but he also threw good ones that should have been catches if the receivers made a stronger effort.

Stats aren't everything. Different eras of football. League wasnt so passer friendly in the 80's. I'm sure Theisman doesnt lose much sleep at night because he "wasn't even the best player on offense". He's probably happy he was a part of a team that won the Superbowl, which already makes him a better football player than Mr. "lets go party in mexico before the game" romo. That being said, I hope they keep romo into his favre years. Best 'girls QB ever.

Joey T won as many SBs as Romo's won playoff games. In fact, he's been in more SBs than Romo's won playoff games. I don't think he loses much sleep over a bad MNF game.

In fact, I think the only MNF game he's sour about is the LT one, but that one's pretty obvious.

Romo is the only active QB to have 2 separate 5 INT games on MNF.

I think Super Bowl winning QB Joey T is on to something.
