I like when opposing fans drop in. I think it can be enlightening to hear the perspective from the other side, and it can also lead to a little smack talk, which can be kind of fun too.

I wouldn't mind my neighbors dropping by either, to be honest.

As to the Falcons, I am scared what Matty Ice will do to our secondary with targets like Julio Jones, Roddy White, and Tony Gonzalez. They have a potent passing offense, and we have a leaky pass defense. The good news is that we should be able to run on them, and I think we can score with anybody, so I expect it to be pretty close.
The press asked a Redskins executive about the salary cap penalty and the executive responded, "Ask John Mara." So the press asked Mara and he said, “What they did was in violation of the spirit of the salary cap. "

Oh I see now, even though there was no actual salary cap in 2010 according to the CBA, the "spirit" of the salary cap still existed. Thanks for clearing that up Mara.

    At, let's say...minimum 20 starts:

    1. Rodgers
    2. Brees
    3. Eli
    4. Ryan
    5. Romo (yeah, yeah, I know)

Our defense does not match up well against this team. This might be the highest scoring game of the year. Unless Hassett has an amazing game plan and we play keep away from Ryan, it's going to be a long day. We can win, but we'd need a gameplan similar to New Orleans.
oh i agree im not saying we are goign to win but we are respected and teams will fear us.

Always glad to see decent fans from other teams drop in, don't just make it a "this week" thing, ES is in season 365 days a year and we always like to hear different views.

We weren't expecting a SB run this year so it's gonna be a win one, lose one kinda year, but dayum our rookie phenom makes watching a lot more fun! Hurt him and we'll hunt you down!

Oh wow a Falcon's fan, they are rare down here in the Atlanta area. I've seen more Redskins and Giants Jerseys than I have Falcon's. I guess now that they are winning I'll see more of them around.

This is one im predicting us to lose, but its the kinda game that the Skins will win and get our hopes up and then go out and lay a stinker the next week. We always lose to teams we should beat and win the games we shouldnt. So if that holds true, them dirty birds are going DOWN!!!!! Well hopefully. But good luck and yes lets hope no more injuries for either team.

Edit: I'd like to add that I used to be a pretty big fan of the Falcons back in the day. I have some fond memories of Steve Barkowski, William Andrews, Gerald Riggs and Lynn Cain. but then Jerry Glanfield kinda changed the team for me in a very negative way. Good luck this season, just not so much on Sunday
I liked the Falcons red jersey/gray pants in the day. I hated when Glanville made them all black. I wish they'd go back to the helmets they wore on Sunday, but with the red jerseys. The black jerseys are from the 60s in their early days.

Our team, as a whole, has always had more bandwagon fans than anyone else, in my opinion. Typically we can be rivaled, in terms of number of fans, anytime a major NFC team comes to the Dome. You're right, and it's frustrating, but typically when we are winning the balance does tip in our favor. To be fair, no one wants to see a losing team, but our loyalty is still suspect.

Some Falcons fans aren't really worried about this game, but the considerable group that is mainly stresses about the Redskin's run game. A lot of your posters are right in that the Falcons run defense has been spotty at times. That's a huge part of the reason Carolina gave us trouble. I had mentioned before the game that's why Carolina will be relatively tougher than their record indicates because their strength is one of our weaknesses. In this case we have another fast QB along with a solid rushing attack to back him up. Just to point this out, Carolina's defense has a reputation of being worse than the one you guys have, and yet that game definitely was one of those wake-up calls. That's why I think this game will be a bit tougher than people are suggesting--as much as I hate to admit it.

Ha, sorry man, we have had opposing fans be annoying on our board too. If anyone else thinks they want to keep this Redskins perspectives only I would be happy to get out of your guys' way. Already said what I wanted to haha.

Stick around, and we have a section called Around the NFL, that has fans from a lot of different teams come in for some good football talk. BTW I was just jazzing you on the Falcon fans, somewhat.

    Welcome to ES.

I have to admit, I love your red helmets.

And Matt Ryan is the quarterback that I would have LOVED to have prior to Griffin's arrival. Now he's just my second favorite quarterback

Ehh...I've seen it before. I know in GB's dismantling of the Falcons in their run to the SB as the game progressed the Packer's chants overtook our own. I don't know if my perception is changed because I see it first hand a lot, but I feel like Falcons fans are notorious for jumping ship when times are rough.

Prior to the start of this season you should have seen how many Falcons fans were complaining about not being able to get Griffin. Matt has made some of them quite down so far, but I think that first playoff win is still needed before doubters are really silenced.

Stick around ATLFF, the ones that want you run off because of your laundry will be few and far between unless you really ask for it.

Ha, I'm gonna be honest, the last part of that regarding laundry really went over my head. Haven't heard the phrase before!

    boom!

But it's true. I was thinking about the same thing when I was out running some errands last Sunday before the 1:00 games started. I saw gear for a bunch of different teams, but very few Falcons (even now). Maybe it's a consequence of being in the suburbs, where transplants are more likely to settle, and things are different closer in to the city? But it's certainly not a hugely loyal fanbase. College football is king. I went to the game here in 2003, and there were a ton of Skins fans. Very little in the way of homefield advantage at the GA Dome

But, I rarely see other people rocking Skins gear. I think that's part of why I'm so addicted to this board. It reminds me that I'm part of a huge community. I'm still kinda shocked back in to reality when I go back to Maryland to visit the family and see all the Skins stuff eveyrwhere
