If the Falcons don't put the game away early, I honestly believe we have a chance- for the obvious reason commonly known as RGIII lol. I'm hoping Haslett has been rotating some different looks/schemes and doesn't just **** the bed this week all together.

Hopefully we can get some turnovers, limit the big plays and keep it close.

Besides the obvious of RG3 playing a lights-out game against the Falcons, the 3 other factors that would need to happen for us to win are:
    - Morris and running game need to be there to provide us balance. Offensive balance and time of possession will be a big factor.
    - We need an amazing performance from our secondary and timely adjustments to our defensive scheme.
    - We need our special teams and ST coach to show up and do their job. We can't afford to miss FGs or have kicks/punts blocked or fumble, etc. etc. on our special team unit.
    Skins/WVU RULE!!!

The subtle yet powerful nature of this post made me laugh. Nice work.

Don't let it bother you, it's not that we hate opposing fans starting threads, it's that we hate that they start threads and then disappear if they lose. Anyway, just stick around, I enjoy hearing perspectives from other fans on other teams that neither of us are fans of (like how you think the Eagles will do for the rest of the season, whether you think Vick can become consistent, that kind of thing).

I really liked Matt Ryan coming out, the guy has been really solid. I also loved Michael Turner and Julio Jones. I was stationed in Augusta at Fort Gordon and a few Falcon's players came up to base one day to visit us and Ryan and Turner were both there, thought that was pretty cool. I've always liked the team since then, seem like an easy group of guys to cheer for off the field, and because there's tons of talent on offense easy to cheer for on the field too. Not sure about the defense, I haven't watched any of their games this year, but I saw the end of the Carolina game.

Anyway, I hope no one gets injured too, I picked this week as one of our losses so I'm not expecting much, but hopefully our defense allows Griffin to keep the game close and exciting.

Also, the only thing I don't like about the Falcons roster, that when the commentators are talking about your kicker I keep thinking they're talking about your QB (Matt Ryan, Matt Bryant). It drove me nuts because they kept saying "Bryant" but it sounded just like "Ryan". Anyway, welcome and good luck.

I'll probably be there this weekend and I'm looking forward to it as all of you really seem like a classy group of fans. Like most of you we share a lot of common enemies (rest of the NFC East) and so that's why I am inclined to like the 'Skins. So, basically just want to say congratulations on finding the right QB for you, and I hope we have a great game this weekend with both teams staying injury-free.

Have a great season 'Skins fans.

P.S. I saw a lot of you say this will be the toughest game of your season so far. I think a lot of Falcons fans (including myself) feel the same. Should be a great one to watch.
Thanks bro.. you have alot of studs on that team.. was disappointed and surprised that the Falcons didn't compete vs the Giants in the playoff game last yr. But this year, it appears that Matt Ryan has finally turned the corner. Anyways... lets to NO INJURIES!

Welcome, ATL. We have a long history here of appreciating respectful opposing fans. And from what I see, you're going to fit that bill nicely. Thanks for the kind words in the OP.

The way I see this game is pretty simple. I think if we can find some way to hold your offense under 30, we win. 30 or better, and the game is yours.

It's refreshing as a Skins fan to be able to say that. In past years, we'd have to hold teams under, say, 17, to have a fighting chance. It's great to be able to put points on the board, and give ourselves a shot even when the defense struggles.

And I definitely expect our D to struggle. Matty Ice has some of the best weapons in the league at his disposal, and frankly I have NO idea how we're going to lock down your WRs. Turner doesn't scare me quite as much as he used to, but I think that's more of a league trend toward the passing game than a slight toward him.

Of note: RGIII has rushed for just five fewer yards than Turner on 16 fewer carries, and with two MORE touchdowns. (Not that that means anything. It doesn't, but it's fun as a Skins fan to throw out there.)

But again, welcome, and enjoy your stay with us. Here's to a great game, with (as you said) no injuries.

So far, THIS YEAR, he has been the best QB in the NFC. It's not even close. Through the first quarter of the season, he has been the MVP.

Ryan has been the best QB in the NFC this year, thus far.

So, firstly, I want to say thanks for your service. We appreciate what you do for our country.

Secondly, yeah that Bryant/Ryan thing throws people off pretty often. As fans I think we get used to it though.

About that Eagles' thing though....I may actually dislike them more than a lot of you on here haha. Part of that might be I like dogs and another part of that might be that Vick really left the franchise in chaos from the way he decided to handle things. I mean, it's great that he admits now that he decided not to study film and all while he was here, but I'm skeptical as to how different he really is now. I used to be one of his biggest supporters but now in retrospect I can definitely see how his game lacked preparation and depended on athleticism. Honestly, you can still see that today, which is a root of his turnover problem, in my opinion. I just feel like there isn't a place for that in the NFL.

If you guys win after I cool off I'll sign on here and congratulate you guys haha, not immediately, but maybe after a day or so!

Thanks, HH. I could imagine this game being an offensive shootout, but I don't think it will be the likely outcome. In my mind the Redskins are going to do everything they can with Alfred Morris and the run game to play keep-away. In years past the Falcons have done that with Brees--this year we'll see what happens but it appears that they are going the more aggressive route. Typically those kinds of games lead to lower scores. So I could imagine the Falcons being held under 30, but I am not so sure that guarantees a Redskins win. Now I haven't seen many Redskins games, but I hear a lot about the defense being really terrible. This doesn't play well for you guys; however, the Falcons run D has shown some serious holes. That is my biggest concern about this game. Morris has been impressive and of course your QB is mobile. The keep-away strategy is a win-win in that sense, there are reasons to believe running will be effective and it keeps the ball out of Matt's hands. Still, if the Redskins D matches it's reputation I'm not sure if that'll be enough. Like I said, should be a fun one, my guess is a lot of running from WAS and a lot of aerial attack from Atlanta.
