Carlos Rogers, the 49ers' cornerback who returned Santonio Holmes' fumble for a touchdown, thought the Jets packed it in early on Sunday.
“It kinda seemed like, after a while they just, I know, looking at their defense, they didn't want to be out there,” said Rogers on Sirius XM radio today. “And after that it's like, man, these guys don't really want to play the game. You know, it's pretty much over.
"You could see it happening,” Rogers said. “It kinda shocked me just because, you know, a lot of guys were saying on the sideline, ‘Oh, they don't want to tackle, they don't want to do this, they don't want to do that.' That's a Rex Ryan defense. That's a Rex Ryan team.
Rogers said it was out of character for a Ryan defense to behave that way.
“His defense, you know, plays throughout. And that was the shocking point about it.... It really kind of shocked me to see that them guys were ready to go get in the showers."

Our defense may be in the bottom 5 but at least they are not quitters. Even when the defense was the strength of this team in recent years and was left on the field way too long, and the offense couldn't move the chains 10 yards.

Sanchez=Jason Campbell. Never will be more than a career backup. That said, Tebow sux. He's a fullback playing QB...a white evangelical virgin version of Brian Mitchell playing QB in the bodybag game.

I figured it would take 8 games.....will have to wait and see what happens this week when they are getting beat up by the Texans. My guess they are down 21 at the half...Tebow comes in and brings them back to win the game....would be kind of cool...

Tebow has gained like 15 pounds since he joined the Jets. He's freaking humongous. There's no way he can be the same effective scrambler that he was in Denver. Without the serious threat of that, and a terrible group of skill players around him, and being limited as a quarterback, he's dead in the water. My only line of thinking behind this is that the owner a) wants to tank for a top 5 draft pick, or b) he is certifiably insane.

Their defense is old, and Roethlisberger is probably like 29/31, but with all the shots he's taken over the years, he probably has the body of Vinny Testaverde at this point. They'll be down soon. They had a good run though.

Honestly, my guess is they are going to take a page out of the Redskins playbook and do EVERYTHING possible to get Geno Smith in this draft. Knowing how the Jets operate, they may even give up more to get him...
