I note that at 108 or so, he is hit out of bounds by the Bengals and that was one of the many no-calls that day (in general.) I firmly believe, had the refs just called the legit late hits/cheap shots, we'd have gotten an extra 90 yards that day, and at key moments too (Mauluga hit Hankerson in the head when he had already surrendered on the play, that was the last drive I believe.)

You will give the Redskins an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time you will help them accomplish wonders.

Maybe it will just take 1 hit that has him seeing stars for him to realize that he needs to do it more often.

also, there is a difference between getting tackled and getting hit/smacked/popped

most of those were tackles IMO

He has slid a couple of times. I also think some of the hits he's taking he's so fast, they look worse than they are, they are more glancing blows because he gets his body pretty low. As long as the refs protect him as they would any other runner, and he increases slides like 15 percent, I think he'll be OK. People say he shouldn't have taken that hit vs. the Bucs on that final run but it actually looks like it was the difference in the field goal being good.

EDIT: wow, at 115 he looks to have taken a head shot when he had already begun his slide. No call AGAIN. Again, sliding actually may put him at risk just as it was last year when he got hit in the head on a slide vs...was it Texas? I can't recall now.

Right; I'm talking about the hits/tackles he is taking after he crosses the line of scrimmage, while staying in bounds. Even if it doesn't look like he is getting popped real hard, as a QB, I think it's important for him to know to just slide if he's not going to advance the ball any further. Even if it's your average tackle, all it takes is an awkward fall and that's all she wrote.

If he were to absorb the amoubt of hits and hard hits he did in the Cincy game every week he wouldn't last. Period. Last week was a perfect balance and they only ran the option a few times and that's where he was getting blown up with or w/out the ball. Coincidence that they didn't run the option as much? I don't think so.

Some of you are missing the point. Yes, everybody wants him to use his legs. They are a weapon, but do it far less than the Cincy game. Again, nobody is suggesting he NOT run. Those that couldn't see my and others concern after the Cincy game are the same ones that would cry wolf had he been injured due to unnecessary or excessive hits.I fully expect them to deny that.

Many of those he kind of flops. I think he likes to make some of the hits look a little worse than they were. He's a smart guy and tries to get the 15 yard flag thrown when possible.

I took from that he's far more vulnerable in the pocket than he is on the move as we can't protect him for **** 9 snaps out of 10.

    Just say no to Chumbawamba.

Those hits didn't look as bad as I expected.

Chumbawamba was a severely underrated band who put out over 15 albums. Sad that this song is the only one that stuck.

    Hail.
I took it as the Bengals tee'd off on him with the replacement refs scared to pull a flag and that defenses have basically been informed to ignore the back on the zone read and plaster Robert Griffin III. The interesting this is that he's one of the least blitzed quarterbacks in the NFL right now. The o-line kept him way cleaner in the pocket versus the Bucs; he's going to get hit, it's going to happen. (It also showed that Trent Williams is a god-send cuz this o-line always suffers when he's gone). But if teams blitz him they get killed; that happened in the last drive. So they've been rushing four and dropping 7 on most plays, which delays guys coming open, which means the o-line has to protect a little bit longer.

And sometimes, Robert takes sacks/hits he doesn't have to, just like every rookie. I don't think the o-line is all to blame. Defenses are being coached to get after him and hit him because that's always the plan with rookies. But he hasn't faultered yet, and now the regular refs are back and will start to get some of those Tom Brady/Peyton Manning calls so teams will start to back off.

He's taking hits, and I wish he wouldn't, but the reality is he's going to be hit.

The team is already moving away from designed runs though. He only had a couple last week, down from a bunch the previous weeks. As we phase out the triple option he'll get hit even less. Once Garcon is 100% he'll be able to get rid of the ball quicker and take fewer hits on passing plays, and on the handoff last week where he threw his hands up, things like that will help him not get hit. Finally, explaining sliding in situations where getting to a specific line (like a 1st down marker or out of bounds) aren't important will limit hits when he does scramble.

We're still working through things. It's going to be a learning process. Hopefully he stays healthy throughout, and we'll get it right and we'll see a lot fewer bad hits, or hits in general.

But he's still going to take hits. Everyone does in the NFL.

Someone on 106.7 the fan referred to Mike and Kyle as the "Klanahans" because they were going to get RGIII killed with the play calling.

I noticed that the triple option and other QB running plays were eliminated after the choke slam in the TB game.
