I know we don't want him to wreck his shoulder but 1) throw it away 2) don't run forward as much if you see you can't make it, just go out of bounds 3) the sliding on the periphery is actually DANGEROUS.

Sliding is when no one is around you really. When you slide in traffic or too late, even in space, you get rocked and it's almost a guaranteed injury/concussion. I actually think the sliding only makes sense in very specific circumstances because it actually puts you in worse position. I think what people should be telling him is to be judicious about when he tried to advance the ball on the far edge of the defense. If you can get just outside the tackle box, sure, get some space and slide. But if you're right at the end, either hustle out of bounds faster, throw the ball away hurriedly or find some way to dive out of bounds because you're less likely to get the killer head shot when doing that than when sliding.

People keep talking about sliding but this is the SECOND concussion Robert has gotten from a (IMO) cheap shot to the head when sliding. Defensive players are consistently trying to hit QBs as low as possible NOT because they initially mean to just take out legs from under them but because they are trying to get cheap hits on the QB's head. There's no reason to launch that low on a player who is already on his way down.

You will give the Redskins an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time you will help them accomplish wonders.

I also think RG3 is smart enough to learn from this. Thank goodness it wasn't worth and he's ok, but that is his personal safety he puts on the line by not making the safe play. Throw it away there.

I gotta side with you on this one. Robert is obviously a bright kid and him not knowing the quarter or score is alarming, mild concussion or not. None of us are doctors and we aren't Robert, I just hope the people in charge do whats best for Robert, not the Redskins.

Sometimes the best play is to throw the ball away. That was the case on the play he got injured on. There was no where to run and no one to throw to. HAVE to throw the ball away. I love his competitiveness, but by throwing the ball away there, he would have lived to play another play. He's a smart guy and the coaches are smart coaches. He will learn from this.

The NFL is looking into it...uh oh.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed to NFL.com and NFL Network that the league is looking into if the Redskins followed NFL rules that require teams be accurate and timely in reporting Robert Griffin III's injury information.

We've got an issue with how Redskins coach Mike Shanahan characterized the injury after the game as well.

They were not happy that we reported Roberts status as "shook up" instead of concussion

I think Injury Comittee Investigation Head Mara is looking into things right now.

Ruh roh, Mara's militia is on the call again. Poor in-game injury wording, that's punishable by what? $12 million more in cap space? But we should feel lucky if they don't take any draft picks because of our heinous offense.

On a serious note, I was at the game. That hit was vicious, I had a sick feeling in my stomach as soon as I saw it. It seemed to play out in slow motion. Prayers with RG3, but the team better not let him be a hero while dealing with a concussion...

Get better kid, he's everything we hoped for and the only thing including Kerrigan I care about regarding this team. Stay healthy (especially upstairs) and practice sliding please.

    The NFL is a joke.

The Redskins did not put RG3 back into the game. What is the issue?

He immediately came off the field and was treated by doctors. The NFL and certain media members are upset because the Redskins didn't give them an update on his injury right away. Boo ****ing hoo.

This is what is wrong with the NFL. If the NFL cared about the players at all they would end injury reports and in-game reporting. It does nothing but make fans and media happy - it actually puts players at MORE risk to be targeted by the other team.

I'm surprised no one has pointed out Witherspoon and other ATL players jumping up and down celebrating while Griffin was laying on the ground less than 5 feet away. I mean, if he coughed the ball up or the hit did something "special" I might give it a pass, but the bottom line, they were celebrating an injury and it was classless and they should have been penalized for it. Then, to make it worse, they were dancing at the end of the game just to add more insult to injury.

Witherspoon said he hoped that RGIII was okay at the end of the game. I think they were just excited they made a 3rd and goal stop.
