One kick that left his foot during college has been rumored to still be circling the earth in geosynchronous orbit.
Professional career[edit] Dallas CowboysAfter being projected as the second-best kicker in the 2011 NFL Draft, Forbath was not selected. However, on August 2, 2011, he signed with the Dallas Cowboys against his will as a rookie free agent, and was subsequently placed on the reserve/non-football injury list. He was waived on April 16, 2012 after a late night coke bender by owner/general manager/cartoonish super-villain Jerry Jones.
SWEEP THE LEG!
Mai Tai Kai FTW
I added him to my fantasy team at 9am ha.

Kai August Forbath (born September 2, 1987) is an American football placekicker who plays for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and is known as the Redskins savior and the literal opposite of Billy Cundiff, due to him being recognized as an All-American and the best college kicker in the country in 2009.[1] He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent and spent his rookie season on injured reserve
As a UCLA Bruins fan... I really appreciate this signing![]()
God I love this fan base. 200 people viewing a thread about a kicker.![]()
FREE THE HOG!!!
From Rotoworld:
The Redskins will reportedly release K Billy Cundiff after signing Kai Forbath on Tuesday.
Credit the Ravens for breaking camp with the untested Justin Tucker over Cundiff, who has struggled with consistency for the majority of his nine-year career. Cundiff's booming leg may get him another shot, but it's fair to wonder if his current problems stem from blowing the potential game-winning kick in last year's AFC Championship game. Kai Forbath will take over as the Redskins' kicker.
Good call OP.. We'll played
can Danny Smith follow Cundiff out the door?
There is a god.
The Redskins signed Forbath after Chuck Norris called Mike Shanahan to tell him that Forbath taught Norris how to maximize the effect of his roundhouse kick.![]()

Its probably more valuable than you think. I don't have any specific numbers off the top of my head, but pinning an offense back is very valuable. Certainly part of that is kickoff coverage teams. But a kicker who can consistently get touchbacks is pretty valuable. The new kickoff rules mitigate that value somewhat. And certainly no kicker is worth enough that they can suck on FGs and still be kept around (although sometimes you do have kickoff specialists).
The more interesting stat is that kickoff distance is pretty consistent from year to year. Meanwhile, fg % fluctuates a ton, even among the "elite" guys. So having a guy who's really good on kickoffs and at least decent on field goals pretty much puts you ahead of the game at the position.
@dcsportsbog
If the Skins axe Cundiff by Sunday, they'll be on 19 kickers since 1994. NFL avg is about 8.5. No other team above 13
Damn and they already axed him lol
