This is interesting. I thought from what we heard yesterday, we did contact Gano
Redskins @Redskins
Shanahan says the team did not contact former #Redskins K G. Gano during yesterday's search. Hopes Kai Forbath is here for next 15 yrs.
Your post makes zero sense. Greg Zuerlein hadn't kicked in the NFL 'til this year, and he's the best kicker in the league right now.
If Forbath is the best available kicker, then he's the guy we needed to sign. I'd rather sign a rookie kicker with huge upside than an 'experienced' kicker off the street who can't kick anymore.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this kid has an accurate leg cannon.
Through the heartache and pain. Here I remain, A Skinz fan for life....
I was kind of hoping we'd just go for it on 4th down every time
Formerly known as "Liberty"
Way deep down, my inner nerd rejoices that we have signed a real, live Klingon.
KAI FOR'BATH! ISH KLAH BAT'LETH!
<translation: wide right>
Makes no sense intill next week after he misses the same kicks that BC missed..LOL This is DC, There is way too much pressure in this city for some guy who has never kicked in a single NFL game to start learning how to now. Time will tell, but considering the fact that I know this town when it comes to sports like the back of my hand..Remember after the first game people thought Cundiff was the next Chip Lo,but now he's gone. Once this guy misses a kick that he should make he's done!! Mock my word!! What we should've done was sign Gano back.IMO
Thank the lord! Hope this guy can make his kicks.
I'm interested to hear how he is doing on kick-offs. From what I understand, he didn't do it in college and maybe high school
So glad that we got rid of Cunmiss, but I've learned not to assume the next kicker will be "The One." We all want Kai to be that guy. Let's hope he is.
If he does get another shot he will become the greatest kicker the NFL has ever known with another team.

I wonder about that as well. FYI...Asked Tandler..my concern would be the possibly injury if not used tod doing it. He spend last season on IR for a leg type injury. I guess if all else fails we could do what we always do...Have Lorenze Alexander do it.
Rich Tandler @Rich_TandlerCSN
@Lifelongskinfan He did not, UCLA had a kickoff specialist
