    you do not put ketchup on a cheesesteak. meat, cheese, with green peppers, onions, and mushrooms optional. that's it.

    friends don't let friends eat ketchup on cheesesteaks. ever.

    Equal parts mayo and ketchup. Don't go too crazy with either because you want to still taste the meat.

    A french dip on the other hand would not suffer the presence of ketchup.
