I'm still 100% against trading Ovi but you're right, he's nothing more than a decoy
Yet it's not opening up anything else
"Watching RG3 today is like watching Jordan vs. the Blazers years ago. Waiting for him to shrug his shoulders as he runs by cameras." - John Keim, November 22, 2012. Thanksgiving at Dallas
Is it really that bad to battle back from 0-2 to force OT and gain a point in NJ?
"Washington strolled to the NFC championship, outscoring their two playoff opponents by a combined total of 48 points. Their domination was more than impressive, it was historic. The 1991 Redskins boasted the largest average margin of victory among all Super Bowl champions."
--- America's Game
Good question. He hasn't been playing well. He seems to pass every time he has the puck. He has what? 3 shots on goal in 4 games? Perhaps he's not 100% but it's not the same Backstrom we've seen over the years. Not sure what's going on there.

Not at all. Though, they should have won it when they had the back to back power plays.
More Complete
I give them credit for coming back and tying it up, but it took what, 5 straight PPs to get the first goal? And you can't deny how awful Ovie and Backstrom have looked. At least Green showed up, minus a crappy penalty.
Definitely encouraged by the resolve they showed to make it a game but that doesn't absolve them of the glaring deficiencies that are evident now for 4 straight games.
Tough loss but they showed some heart out there today to come back from 0-2 down
Tough that they couldn't win it in overtime but at least they gave up less than 4 goals today
Although I do hope they turn things around, it does feel bad to see the one Washington team who's been doing things right all these years, getting it all wrong right now.
I wasn't really all that encouraged... They had 3 minutes of 5 on 3 and 40 seconds of PP after that, and only managed 1 goal with no other quality scoring chances during that time.
They did definitely seem to pick up the intencity in the last couple minutes, but you cant have a team that inconsistent.

I am watching the NYR vs TOR game on NHL Network and they just called another one of those new interference calls. I think this is having a bigger affect on the game than was anticipated. We have been called for quite a few of those thus far and I wonder if the NHL did a good enough job informing the teams of change and the way the rule would be interpreted.
Edit: I'd remove that video entirely. There are just TOO many f-bombs. When Boudreau gets angry he's more hilarious than inspiring. Little Garden Gnome.

The most disappointing thing about this team so far to me has been to how incredibly soft they are (Hendricks excluded)
Other teams can run the goalie, crush players from behind, and be borderline dirty all they want because the Caps aren't even going to bother into it with anyone.
