How is a 2-1 loss on the road against the Rangers a sign that we are a bad team?

exactly. i.e. being average IMO
That's gonna be the best we can do against stacked teams like NYR and PIT

I meant average to bad.
Yeah we only lost by 1 but our defense was awful and we still can't finish when it matters. Without Holtby standing on his head, we would have gotten blown out. Relying on Holtby for 30+ saves a game isn't the sign of a good team.
That's how we're always gonna look against talented, deep teams like them

It's getting to the point of critical mass. You either win, or blow it up and start over. OR hire a new GM and a coach that can take them to the promised land.
You can't keep rolling out Ovie, Green and company and sell the fans on the team.
Green has become Mr. Injury, and isn't a playoff defenseman.
Nobody on this team is untouchable.
After watching a healthy portion of that game last night, you guys have a defense like ours... Non existent. Although I think we have different issues. Our defenders can't keep a puck on their stick for anything. A lot of yours don't look like they're even interested in playing D.

Honestly I'm kind of changing tune from where I was a couple weeks ago. I don't think we're that far off, and no fire sales are needed at this point. I do think we'll need at least one significant upgrade on D to become a top tier team, but the young talent at F we should have coming in next year gives me a lot of hope. Right now, just make sure you lock up Ribeiro long term and you're in good shape.
