I still wonder what the hell happened at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.

This team hasn't been the same since those games. They were on an upward arch (in particular Ovi who had 42 goals in 56 games at that point in the season and coming off back to back MVPs) didn't finish strong, lost to MTL and have been rudderless since.

Sure there have been 2 straight years of making it to round 2, but the vibe and attitude of the entire organization has been very different pre-Vancouver and post-Vancouver
The hotter the heat, the harder the steel, no pressure no diamonds, we compete, we win

We are the next decade of the Washington Redskins

100% agree. It's like for the team in general and Ovi in particular a switch that had been on was suddenly off after that Olympic break and has stayed off since. I don't know how to explain it, they just haven't been the same since and Ovi's points per game dropped from 1.5 before to 1.0 after that Olympics. Very odd.

Bad luck continues. Browser cleans up Josephson and puck goes right to Gianta

Is anyone else worried that Calle Johansson may be way out of his element? Great players don't always make great coaches. Carlson and Green look so lost it's almost as if they are intentionally letting players by them as part of some ridiculously misconceived plan. At least we finally played with some heart. Crabb looks like a good value pickup.

They've been two of our better players, I have no problem with it. I'd have prefered Ovie - Backstrom/Ribeiro - Beagle/Crabb, but I'm fine with it.

I'd like to see Ovi/Ribeiro/Brouwer and Wolski/Backstrom/Crabb as our top two lines.

That's a decent idea but I feel like it leaves Backstrom out to dry a bit.

He has easily been our worst player this game, so he should feel fortunate. I think he and Ovi are used to a different style of hockey over in Ruuslandia.
