I wonder if there is any shred of truth to the Canucks GM being at the game last night as a potential spot for a trade of either Bobby Lou or Cory Schneider. If we give up Kuz or Forsberg for one of them... I'm not sure how I would feel... but it wouldn't be very good.

I'd like to think that Kuznetsov/Forsberg are off limits.

Maybe a package of any of these players would work: MoJo, Perrault, Galiev, Laich, Brouwer, Holtby, Neuvirth, 1st/2nd round pick....

In this deal, maybe they could bring back Zack Kassian, Booth, Edler, or Bieksa...

I don't know what the injury is or how long he'll be out but I'd like to add Kessler to the list. I think Booth is injured also.

I asked Steve Whyno about it on twitter.

He said he doubts it is trade related

If we're gonna get a forward back, Kesler would be a good option. One of the best 2-way centers in the league.

There's no way the Canucks trade Kesler. It would require a very hefty offer to get them to consider it.

why the **** would they trade a goalie and him to us?
What are we sending back that is even close to comparable?

It would probably have to take either Kuz or Forsberg...both of whom I HOPE are off the table.

FWIW, I give GMGM a hard time...but he's not a fool when it comes to trades. We'll have to see what happens.

My guess is that Galiev is the prospect we'll move along with a pick and or MoJo/Perrault - depending on what Vancouver is offering.

    .... lol

And then Pierre threw Orlov's name in there... all while we were getting our asses kicked. It was the proverbial kick to the stomach while a man's already down.

What I thought was funny was the neither of them mentioned that we traded Vokoun, who was in goal at the time, for a 6th round pick.

Brooks Laich apparently told Eric Bickel from the Sports Junkies that "this team is that close to grasping this system." Apparently he was really excited.

MoJo, Perrault, Galiev, Laich, Brouwer, Holtby, Neuvirth, 1st/2nd round pick....
Brouwer has played well, and we traded a first round pick for him because there was no one that the organization liked in that draft that early and he was already NHL ready. That said, the only guy I would be upset about trading would be Laich. And Neuvirth. I think Neuvy is going to be better than he is now. Clearly he's far and away a better goalie than Holtby.

Bob Mckenzie just shot down all Van-Wsh rumors

Burnside's ESPN rankings has us dead last at 30. Ouch.

"The Capitals could not follow-up a big win over Philadelphia on Friday with much of an effort Sunday against Pittsburgh. The Caps have a league-worst minus-12 goal differential."

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Semin wouldn't make that much of a difference on this team IMO.

His "replacement" Wolski has one less point than Semin so far this year. Big difference.

Wolski has four points and Semin has five points thus far. That's an awful lotta slack there.

Wolski is no Semin. The two shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath.

...and Semin wasn't worth what he wanted. No use crying over someone we've all wished were gone at one point or another.
