Caps got screwed by the officials on that goal. Absolutely should not have been a power play.

Oates is putting Crabb and Beagle on the top line likely due to their good two way game and Beagle's proficiency at the dot. Not only that, but they have both played quite well in the early going. My feeling is it has much less to do with Ovechkin and more to do with the fact that Beagle and Crabb have played well.

In my opinion, Ovechkin has easily been the worst of our top 6 so far this season when you factor in all aspects of the game.
He's still the best goal scoring player we have. Neither Crabb or Beagle are going to do anything for him.

At least he's out there w/ Backstrom and Brouwer.

Bad loss by the Caps. Screwed by the officials, but they have up two really bad goals that were completely their own fault.

Saw on Twitter that Carlson was on for two goals against tonight, 15-22 on the season. Oof.

Penalty regardless, how the **** do you give Sergei Gonchar literally 30 feet of free space to shoot on Neuvirth. Christ there is nothing worse than a passive penalty kill. Gonchar could've read a porno mag back there with the amount of time he had.

This game should have ATLEAST resulted in 1pt. It's going to be a long wait for Thursday night against the Maple Leafs.

He messed up on their 1st goal. Not sure what he was actually doing.

I had to listen to this on the radio. I thought for sure we were going to win.

I can see some positives now but we're still not winning games. It's still early but we're digging ourselves into a Wizards-like hole. There are a lot of teams ahead of us in the point standings now and our division isn't doing us many favors.

We really need to win games such as these, otherwise its hard for me to see us making it into the dance.

The next three games will make or break the season IMO. We need to at least get 3 points out of these next three. Anything less and the season is lost.

This team could compete BUT they're not good enough to go on a long string of wins, which is why these next three will be crucial. They're not defensive enough to shut down teams every night. They're not offensive enough either (Lightning, Sharks).

I love hearing these things. If the Caps don't do x over the next y amount of games, the season is over. The Caps are 8 points from being first in the conference with 42, let me repeat 42 games left to play. That's another 84 possible points. The team clearly is playing better and this team will only continue to get better throughout the season.
