I love hearing these things. If the Caps don't do x over the next y amount of games, the season is over. The Caps are 8 points from being first in the conference with 42, let me repeat 42 games left to play. That's another 84 possible points. The team clearly is playing better and this team will only continue to get better throughout the season.

Playing better isn't a guarantee either.

It's beating a dead horse, but the Ovechkin - Crabb - Beagle experiment needs to end. If Oates wants to get him on track, keep him with either Ribeiro or Backstrom as the pivot.

Agreed. I don't care how hard-working Crabb and Beagle are, they should NEVER be paired with Ovechkin.

You haven't heard? Ovechkin doesn't have any talent and should be traded for a defensman. He got by on youth, speed and luck his first 5 seasons and is a washed up bum at this point. That, and the season is over because we are 1-4-1. Nevermind the MASSIVE improvement over the last 4 games, and the fact that we have 3 more games until "preseason in a new system is over".

I like Crabb. He's not a fourth line guy. When Brooks comes back though, he needs to be on a line with Ribeiro and Ovi. Crabb should be on a line with Nicky and Chimera. Brouwer should be on the 3rd line with Beagle and Kuznetsov... oh wait... nevermind...

Finally - the Flyers catch a break like so many times teams have caught them. Flyers with 2 days off, and the Caps traveling home from Toronto tonight to play the Flyers tomorrow.

Although the Caps have struggled, can't put up a W when the Flyers have been just as bad. The futile Power Play, they only have scored at least a goal in 8 of 21 periods, and the D has been up and down.

Bryz has been humangous big though!

How is the Caps Power Play? Becuase the Flyers can't stop anyone's yet...
