Ok, my thoughts about ancient action movie stars being like ancient rock stars---they need to just stop, even if people will buy it---may need to change since Stallone looked like he got in pretty good shape for recent and upcoming flicks (and even Arnold has), and Clint and Bruce can still pull it off a bit at least.

Now I thought Die Hard 5 sounds like a stupid idea when I first heard about it and Bruce is hard to buy as still being some uber badass at 60-plus (haven't seen any trailers yet), but then I found out Anne Vyalitsyna's in it so...

Really pumped for Zero Dark Thirty.

As wrong as Cruise is physically for Jack Reacher, friends of mine have seen it and loved it

I saw the silver linings playbook and loved it. Would not be surprised if it won best picture.

Hooper, I am more afraid I'll like it the Reacher flick anyway, and then it will be another ****ing Tom Cruse move I enjoyed.

I don't know why I haven't liked the look of Djnago at all. I'm not a big Foxx fan, but I know he's good. Dunno why I have that reaction.

I saw the preview for the Reacher movie a couple weeks ago. Looks really good, but my first thought was that Tom Cruise was mis-cast, even though I never read any of the books.

All you gotta know is it has DiCaprio, Waltz, and Tarantino!

Will Smith was actually supposed to play the Foxx role, I think, but he backed out. Classic Will.

Disney to acquire Lucasfilm for 4.05 BILLION.

Promises Episode VII by 2015, with episodes VIII and IX to follow.

BTW - anyone see the Red Dawn trailers this weekend?

Looks underwhelming for such a classic 80's remake.

When it came out, I thought the original Red Dawn was one of the more stupid movies I'd ever seen (still do) and the new one looks about the same to me (well, actually better due to cast and production values). Still a "pass" for me.

It's classic cheese that resonated with my age group in 1984-1985.

Yeah, I can see that--makes sense. Like one of those "bad movies" that's just fun because it's so bad and they were tryng to be real.

After I read World War Z a couple of years ago, I heard the rumor that there was going to be a movie. I thought it would be amazing, because the book has such a great narrative arc to it. Then, I heard what the movie would be about, and IMDB has this up as the plot:

"A U.N. employee is racing against time and fate, as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly Zombie pandemic."

No. That is not World War Z. Unless there's a major re-write to correct the error, the point of the book was how we (humanity) fought together and recovered from the zombie plague/epidemic/menace/whatever, not about trying to prevent it. Sure, that part is at the very beginning of the book, but it's just to get the plot in motion. It's not the main focus. Oh well, not like whining on the internet ever stopped Hollywood from screwing up a perfectly good book.
