^ Those pics remind me of "The Town"...one of my favorite movies in recent years.
Doesn't look too bad up there yet.
This is incredible. 60 mph wind gusts. Snowfall is approaching 3 inches per hour. Thunder. Classic Nor'Easter. One for the record books in Boston.
Best storm I've experienced here or in D.C. since Presidents Day 2003 easily.
A band in Connecticut put down 5 inches in an hour.

I'm jealous. Have fun!
I'll have pics later. Connecticut is just getting obliterated. 5 inches per hour band.
0Z GFS is crushing the entire East Coast...DC North on Valentines. Where will they put all the snow in Boston?

Sunday the 17th is looking crazy on the GFS as well.

So incredibly jealous right now. I would either be a) drifting my car through the snow or b) hooking the dogs to the sled and going for a hike. Just one good storm this winter for DC, please.
I walked four blocks to the quickie mart...felt like the end of the world haha.
Cars are going under:

This is insane. We have to be closing in on two feet and we are hours away from heavy bands exiting the area. Wind gusts up to hurricane force (80 mph). This is historic. Connecticut has passed two feet. There will be widespread amounts of 30 inches +.
I'm about an hour over the boarder from Buffalo, winter storm warning in effect, hardly anyone was working, very few on the roads. Got over an inch if snow an hour from about 5am through 3pm, finally stopped at 6pm. I went to bed late last night around 1:30, & thought we might miss the storm, but it came quick, about 1 foot here, 18" in some surrounding areas.
At least they plowed my street this time. We had a big storm the day after Christmas (Boxing Day) & some city streets still were not plowed by the new year. I've run out of places to pile snow, will get back at it tomorrow, thank god for the weekend, it's going to take a while to clear everything.
New England got it worse, & some parts of Atlantic Canada are looking at 20"+ of snow and 75-90mph winds over the weekend. Stay safe everyone, clear the sidewalks & then get comfy inside, this amount if snow will stay for a while, even if it warms up to 40 on Monday, that alone won't put much of a dent in the mountains of snow we have piled up.
