So tired of the NFL. I've only allowed myself to watch Redskins games now and that's it. For the last how many years I've basically had my TV stuck on NFL Network. I'm done caring about the league or it's other teams. If this keeps up I might not even watch Redskins games because the integrity of the league is becoming a joke, and when that happens we're watching controlled entertainment. Might as well watch the WWE in that case.

I swear, I'm starting to think that if we really want the Redskins to be on the "right side" of these rulings like we see so many other teams, we just don't watch them. Then the NFL will get worried and start throwing us bones. Yeah, yeah, conspiracy theories I know.

And when we do have this thing turned around, people will see it, and say, ‘Oh my God, that's the way you do it.' "

NFL finds nothing wrong with official conduct and issues an appology to the Giants.

The referee said something to D. Hall. I'm not sure what it was, but the film clearly shows the ref yelling at Hall and Hall subsequently removing his helmet with a "WHAT?!"

Was it an insult, question, racist slur? Idono, but the bottom line is that it takes two to make an argument and the ref was shouting at D Hall first.

McKenzie is nervous. Watch the Vikings game this week; he may not throw a single flag. This isn't the first time he has been "looked at" by the league because of his demeanor towards players and coaches. This doesn't absolve Hall for not learning to keep his trap shut and play ball, but know that the league is not happy with McKenzie.

Depending on what was said, why wouldnt it? If the Ref went racial on D. Hall I'd expect him to handle it the way he did. It's not as if Hall laid a hand on him. If he went racial on Hall, id have less respect for Hall if he did keep his "trap shut". But, this all depends on what was said byu the ref, I'm not giving Hall a free pass just yet

Hall gets $30,000 fine and no suspension. I guess daddy-G found one of his crooked refs to be culpable in the incident, and wants it to go away quietly. This sucks. I wanted a presser. Oh well, at least we don't miss Hall for a game.

As many have said, they never admonish an official in public but behind closed doors. Would not surprise me to see him working at Panera bread next year.

I don't understand why everyone is freaking out on the ref. Refs yell/argue with players/coaches in every sport. Remember that classic clip of Earl Weaver and that umpire? I was at the Drexel Men's Basketball game last night and clearly saw the ref standing up to Bruiser Flint on numerous occasions.

The refs don't have to stand there and take abuse. They can yell back. They just can't lose their minds, As long as the ref didn't say anything racial or crazy like that, I see no problem

    Um, no, they can't.

Their job, their *SOLE* job, is to maintain order in the game. Approaching and mocking a player is unacceptable under any and all circumstances. Having people pissed off at you is as part of the job as heat is to a firefighter.

That ref ****ed up and was in the wrong. His, and anyone's actions, are completely independent of any other person's.

They also don't have to sit there and be berated the whole game. Now if he said some really messed up stuff that's different, but if that's not the case then I have no problem with it.

Like I said before, refs frequent chirp back. It happens. Football. Hockey. Basketball.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen was a ref yelling at Rick Adelman to "keep his mouth shut" during the '92 NBA Finals

part of keeping order is not letting the players verbally berate you or constantly be in your ear.

I don't understand why you think that the frequency of an action has anything to do with the validity of the action. Refs frequently chirping back doesn't make it right; they're acting like asses.

I don't know you, and I definitely don't mean this in an offensive manner, but I think that you're coming from the side of inexperience in the job force. If you're working retail, and you go off on a customer who's berating you, then you're fired. Done. On the spot. This is a *JOB* to the refs.

Going after a person that you're supposed to be officiating reeks of immaturity and incapacity. You know those parents who are yelling at their three-year-olds in the mall for wanting a toy? Yeah, they're really being effective and showing how good they are at parenting, aren't they? Of course not. The refs have the same responsibility to themselves and their profession.

well click on this link and the sour taste will get worse... it involves the nfl knowing about how damaging the concussions are yet they denied it.. mixed singals here by them.. after all the bs about head shots... and fines

I don't understand why ppl keep comparing the nfl to a regular job...it's not. I've had plenty of retail, office, and on field reffing work experience (I'm trying to get certified to do high school games in the near future as I've been reffing club sports at Drexel since my freshman year) to know the difference.

Sports are different than a job where you are interacting with customers

I'm not advocating cursing out every player that says a cross word but no, you do not have to be a mute either.

It *IS* a job. There isn't a difference.

In any job, you represent your company with every action that you take. The replacement refs were terrible, and did that reflect positively or negatively on the league? Blown calls **** games up royally, and do they reflect positively or negatively on the league?

Hall blows up and Shanahan looks terrible. The ref blows up and . . .nothing? No. He was a dick, and he needs to keep his cool. If he doesn't, then why should the players? When you're keeping order, the *TOP* thing to do is lead by example.

That one didn't. I hope that you don't make the same mistake when you officiate.

How is a screaming ref an impartial ref?
