Default HTTR24-7:Redskins Offensive Player Grades At The Bye Week

The bye week is here so what better time to ” Evaluate “ the offensive players . Since 2010 Mike Shanahan has re-made the Redskins offense by bringing in 25 new players. The Redskins offense started the year showcasing speed at TE,WR,and RB but have since been decimated by injuries. The grades for www.profootballfocus.com reflect a players performance through 9 games this season. We will be doing one for the defense in the coming days as well. HTTR

Is that overall # supposed to be their league ranking? If so, I'm surprised Hankerson is higher then Moss and Morgan, and that we have three OL in the top 15.

I was never a big Royster fan. He doesn't really do anything special. You can find guys with his skill sets off the streets no problem.

God those WR stats make me want to cry.

Oh this just confirms that Royster needs to be inactive every week and that Polumbus needs to be replaced with a turnstile

I'm surprised by Lichtensteiger and Polumbus' numbers. Oh well, reality bites. Nice work LL, always droppin' knowledge.

LL what do you think about shanny you have been a huge supporter of him and so have I, was last week enough to change your mind like most people on here. I for one think his offense is working, ball control, limited turnovers, rushing game, and a stud qb, with some bad drops, mistakes, and costly penalties thrown in but I would agree with that he knows offense and we are much better there then we were for the past two decades. The defense is terrible though and some of that has to fall on him.

Would like to hear what you think?

Yep, just as I expected, except with Lich.

RGIII, Trent, Monty and Morris are the studs. Chris Chester is playing at a stud level too, which is a bit surprising. Davis was good pre-injury. Our WRs suck and Polumbus is a train-wreck.

We're pretty much a competent RT and at least one productive WR/TE away from being a top flight offense.

The receiver rankings are very telling and speak to what is holding the offense back - although part of that is the design and focus on read option/play action which is not really featuring the receivers. Might be one of those chicken/egg things, but my vote would go with the receivers being an issue holding back game planning rather than the other way around.

The defensive rankings would make interesting reading!

The overall league rank is where they rank in their position group. Example is Montgomery who is Ranked as the #2 center in the league. Polumbus grade is out of 69 graded Tackles.. Kory and Polumbus the main reasons we can't consistently run our base run game left or right.

Clearly, these stats back up that we have no receiving threat, and Polumbus is a train wreck in pass pro.

I figure our (slight?) positives will be Carriker, Bowen, Cofield, Jenkins, and our big negatives will be Fletcher, Riley, the safeties, and the CBs (unless they blame the CB problems on the safeties, though I expect Hall to get a bad grade regardless)

I know am acting some like Shanny by thinking about next year already but on offense if all they do is get a RT and a Wr that poses a deep threat ala Mike Wallace -- could be unstoppable.
