Is there anyone who will NOT vote?

I get people not wanting to vote for the president....but what about for your state stuff? How can you not have a yes or no opinion on some of that stuff?

Gay marriage? Casinos? Cops?

You don't have to vote for any of the presidential candidates...

Similar to Koolblue, I'm not yet set up to the point where I could and feel comfortable voting for anything on a local/small scale. Also drug my feet too much in that regard.

I can't vote for PotUS today because of my lack of preparation in my current location and I am very very disappointed that I didn't get my ducks in a row fast enough to vote here, but I also wanted a political break and to give it a year in my very different new home.

The absentee, while easily accessible with endless information on the websites, is rarely talked about. Not that it's hard at all to get online to check it out, but the dates kinda creep up on you. I applied for my ballot the last day I could and mailed it yesterday Not an excuse for people, but I feel like the info isn't really promoted? Maybe that's just me. I feel kinda silly for saying all of this, like I'm not capable of remembering to do my absentee stuff without someone telling me. But you just made a big move and it's pretty understandable.

Regardless, it's more the people who say they won't vote because they hate the presidential candidates. I was just pointing out there's more on the ballot than that...it's basically why I voted.

Personally, I don't really care about the whole "you can't complain if you voted/didn't vote." Everyone will complain. One of my friends isn't voting because she said she isn't informed enough...I told her it's not that hard to get informed at least about some things, and she was just apathetic about the whole thing. I disagree with her, but it's not my decision.

No one has it easy anymore but I think its really awesome that we actually get a say in our gov't. If that is patriotic BS, then I am fine with it.

I use to think it could not be an Oligarchy anymore and somebody not towing the flows policies, especially as hard as these two are could come in and make a difference.

The last election, people wanted change so bad they had hope. They got the same old retread bull****. So, we watch people squabble over the tiniest differences or slight changes in stats and graphs and mostly because they enjoy it in the same way we enjoy arguing over whos football team is better.

I think people enjoy their immediate comfort of their daily lives and find more importance in the safety of today. I think people are happy being ignorant and there isn't much hope for that.

This about sums it up and until America figures out that neither party gives a rat's ass about anyone other than the rich and getting re-elected this will continue

Why not vote 3rd party then? The more people vote 3rd party and the polls reflect that there are more people wanting change, 3rd party candidates have a better chance in the future for becoming a viable option instead of people thinking it would just be a wasted vote.

And this also is something I feel strongly in and agree with. I will be voting today

I am not voting. I have given up the hope I once in the ability of the political process. I feel the system is too corrupted and favors only the rich. I also refuse to pretend that either of these candidates have a platform that I can support.

Nothing's going to change if we don't exercise our voice through voting.

I've never been affiliated with either party and have voted Dem, Rep, and third party.

Not voting is not showing up.

It's not stating an opinion.

It's not being heard when you say you don't like the choices you have.

If more people who don't like the choices we have actually voted against those choices, we'd be better off.

5% of the popular vote gets a 3rd party equal access to federal campaign grants in future elections. That's HUGE. If you don't like one of the "big 2" then go out and try to help bring a 3rd option into the conversation.

See, we live in America where Freedom of Speech is written into the Bill of Rights. That pretty much guarantees even those who don't vote are allowed to express their opinion on things. It is because of this we are separated from the countries you invoke in the next sentence.

It's a real privilege that many people in this planet don't get the advantage of doing.

This also irks me. It is not a privilege to vote, it is a RIGHT.
