Trust me, it's not the coaching that's the problem with the secondary.

At the end of the season, if Rex Ryan is available, i'd bring him in as D-coordinator immediately.

That is true, but no matter how you look at it alot of it falls back on the couch. That would be like the Fagles lineman couch being promoted to Offensive coordinator . Im not sure if I would be OK with that.

We should keep Haslett until the end of the season. Then we should see who is available.

If anybody with the name of "Ryan" is available, take him...REX.

If he's not available, then we need to go after Eric Mangini.

By all accounts, Haslett has done horribly bad, as his track record shows, but why does Mike still have faith that he will turn things around? If this is going to be an unbreakable leash between the 2, then Mike's sealed his own fate IMO.

Now Morris, well things aren't working out in his favor; if he's part of the reason, there's no point in keeping him either.
But PLEASE stop saying Rex Ryan is a great choice; his dad had a great defense, and to look at the Jets today, well they're not doing so hot on either side. He is a figurehead, a problematic magnet which will create more problems than anyone could handle.
Just switch back to the 4-3, at least more pressure will be getting to the QB, and go on a secondary hunt and try to attract any FAs out there...
That endorsement of the coaches was just "coach speak". He also said that he thinks the defense is doing a great job.. In the real world Haz is GONE! don't worry.

I'm also on the Rex Ryan wagon. Remember Wade Phillips? The guy who sucked as HC for Dallas? Yeah, he's having a pretty good season as Houston's DC. The talent level is comparable as well, so I wouldn't buy the claims that Houston's D is better equipped. Some guys simply can't handle being the HC and do better as a coordinator with less responsibility. I think Rex would be the same way. A terrible HC, but would probably be a great DC.

Edit: of course that is dependent on his firing.

Why not just like Mike run the defense.

He may well be already. I mean, Haslet wanted the 4-3 and Mike said no, is Haslet even really calling the shots now? Sure, with an *

    * He doesnt like the 3-4.

Haslet needs to stand up grab the bull by the horns, and try and save our D. Show more of his 4-3 looks, be aggressive, try a different blitz, I dunno, but he can only do worse by doing the same thing.

This. Haslett is done, but I do think Shanny has an issue if he promotes Morris because of the horrible play of the secondary. However, like a lot of things that get discussed here, there can be a disconnect between what fans think and what the guys in the locker room think. I'd be curious to know what the players think of Raheem and if they would be excited to see him get the gig.

    Eric Mangini, or Ron Rivera.

I don't want to see another year with Haslett and Morris. Both, are subpar coaches.

Oh, good one. I don't see him getting canned by Carolina, but that would be a good pick up.
