Yeah, you're right. I'm certain that the people who didn't bother to vote at all, didn't vote because they really, really, really hate Obamacare, but couldn't bother to actually vote against it, either.

What I dislike about the only 25 percent voted meme is that it is inherently and most likely intentionally dishonest. I mean is it really shameful that Johnny five year old didn't vote or that freshman in high school failed to cast a ballot? Are you really expecting 100 percent of the total population to vote? Roughly half aren't allowed to.

Romney's next going to accuse Obama of kissing babies! Promising gifts during a campaign? Unheard of and I'm sure Romney did no such thing!

What I love is the mental image of Mitt Romney accusing Obama of building a coalition of interest groups, and telling those interest groups what they want to hear.

That's too deep for some to process, Larry.

I hear "He cheated! He got more people to vote for him because they think he's going to do better by them than I would have. No fair! How can there be more poor young and or minority voters than rich white male voters?"

I hate to think it, but has anyone read Marx? To see his complaint is to see somebody complaining what Marx predicted is coming to pass, not with a gun and a flaming torch but rather with a ballot box/machine.

I don't see it as drastic as Romney. I see it more as a failure to connect with multiple growing populations of voters whom could be safely written off in previous elections.
I believe my job as a parent is to give my kids all the blocks they need to build a life in which they can attempt to reach everything they strive for and see anything they can imagine. In a world where everybody finds it easier to destroy than build, I wish for my kids to experience the joy of seeing something for the first time and the love of creating something new.

For some reason I get more of a video vibe with this rather than just an image...I'm also getting a number associated with it....47%.
That said, this has sore loser written all over it, and not very presidential, but then it is entirely expected from him.

You ought to have a little compassion for Romney. The man has been more or less campaigning for President for eight years. He's been violently rejected twice. That's got to sting a bit. Tell me you haven't said stupid things after being rejected.

It's usually the stupid things I say that get me rejected.
I personally cannot imagine what it would feel like to have 60 million people simultaneously and publicly reject me. I'd probably just crawl in a really deep hole and pull a rock in on me.

Perhaps a "business model" of doing everything you can to reduce the wages, I mean, "the cost" of labor, is unsustainable, in politics?

It works great on Wall Street.

That's a good point. If everyone would just agree to work for free corporate profites would skyrocket and the economy would be fixed in no time. Damn the 47%

    Nah....couldn't be that.

My company was recently advised of an R&D tax credit we're eligible for. The standard for what constitutes R&D is low. So just by being in a certain kind of business we get this credit. You might argue, I suppose, that the government wants the tax code to favor high tech product businesses more than, say pizza franchises, but you can imagine the outrage if we were some 'undeserving' demographic getting this kind of tax credit.

I think that the 47% thing did serious damage to Romney - claiming that high a percentage of Americans are moochers is stupid both in it is not true and in that you are insulting close to a majority of voters. Doubling down on that notion as an explanation for a loss is worse.

Romney was not a good candidate. He did not connect with people. His awkwardness / disconnect from average people goes a lot further to explain his loss than any notion of handouts.
