Some fairly amazing things happened in the Senate and House races last night

1. Linda McMahon goes down in CT. This was no shocker, but I had not paid that much attention to Chris Murphy. Should I be this happy that a Democrat talked about health care as a right and ending foreign wars in a victory speech? I mean, he sounded like a Democrat. That made me happy.

My good buddy was one of the head guys on this campaign, glad to see all the hard work pay off.

And for one of the ones that did compromise, it DID carry a death sentence. That's my overall point.

Brown didn't get a death sentence from the voters because he compromised. If anything, that is the only reason the race was as close as it was in that deepest of deep blue states.

And other extremists won. So again, are we more likely to get a functioning govt with Ted Cruz and Elizabeth Warren?

Did Allen West lose or no? Seems that he won't accept it.

Joe Walsh fell. Too bad Bachmann didn't.

Losing the most moderate GOPer makes it less likely those mentioned above will have anyone to deal with. That's my point.

That's really true of both sides but admittedly faster with the Republicans.

I wonder if we will have an Iraq/Aghanistan veteran President. We have just about made it through the baby boomer generation without electing a Vietnam vet.

I wonder how much of that was based on the fact that after WWII very few children from 'elite' or other families of means had their children serve in the military.
